First time Ive seen him tonight and within about 30 seconds I was struck by the likeness of our former hero. He moves EXACTLY like him and has an astonishing similar playing style.

    That is all.

From what I've seen so far, JVoH seemed a bit better.

In all fairness I think what he did last night he did very well with some great touches, he was just far, far too islolated. He was desperate to get involved and as a result often came deep looking for it which caused issues.

We really need to play Koren centre mid to burst forard to support the strikers and allow the two pacey wingers to provide the service. People always say he is too lightweight but what evidence have we got for this?

JvoH was a far superior player but we got him at the tail-end of his career

Goals breed confidence, hopefully once Nick's first goal goes in he will be off and running. He has the physical attributes to be succesful in the championship

it is early but he has still to prove 2.5 millions worth of talent. saw him miss a sitter at rochdale. i heard he missed a similar sitter at donny. last night he missed a relatively simple header from a perfect koren delivery which had goal-bound written all over it. he seems a little too eager by getting there a touch too soon at the moment. he also seems to fade as games progress. perhaps match fitness. maybe he needs a goal and to get to know those around him to kick on. i ll give him the benefit of doubt so far.

If you think he cost that much that is.... A mischief maker might suggest that after sacking Nick for what amounts to constant harrassing for funds and publicly disputing his claims that money wasnt available the owners then had to be seen to be spending serious money. In addition the other party involved had to be seen to be receiving a large fee to make the sale justifiable to fans.

Let's face it, it is a HUGE, almost unheard of fee for someone who has had 1 good season in a low level continental league....

He's going to be under vast amounts of pressure now. He just needs one to get him up and running.

I'm not worried at all. It's pre season and nobody seems to be scoring. We're still trying different players in different positions to find what's best suited for us. That usually means a lack of goals because players are adapting to new surroundings, players etc etc.

From what I've seen, Proschwitz has been great IMO. He has a great touch, good movement, is always looking to get into the game, always trying to get into a good position, likes to bring others into the game too. He has aerial and physical ability too which covers the problem from last Season. He'll be fine.

Just compare our pre season to last year's. We look free scoring against Liverpool but then couldn't score for love of money against Blackpool. You can't take a lot friendly games lets wait until Saturday at least.

yes Koren in centre midfield would be great. I doubt it will happen though.

Indeed, I remember writing a report around that time. Great pre-season, 3-0 win over a first-team Liverpool side... and then lost 4 of our first 5 games, including a cup game to Macclesfield and a 4-1 defeat at the hands of TWS. Oh, and we only scored 2 goals in the process, and even then the Leeds one was an own goal (if I remember rightly?)
