My sister's got one just for the sake of having one. She hardly ever uses it.

Too big and bulky for me, I like small.

Best thing since iPhone, so amazing, use mine all the time, for lecture notes that sync up with my mac over wifi, general browsing, facetime, very worthwhile purchase id say!

I think they're great, I use mine for...

FaceTime calls which is 1 million times better than Skype.

TVCatchup which has all the freeview channels on it if I'm not in the house (have the olympics on it at my desk at work).

Sky Player - most important one, if I'm anywhere where there's no sky I just hook up to my account and I can watch football (or movies if I want).

TV series/films on iTunes, I use this when I'm flying anywhere, especially long haul - power lasts a lot longer than most laptops.

I would say though, if you plan to use it as a laptop/for anything work related it's poor, even with a keyboard attached.

I got one 2 weeks ago. Had a load of chew connecting to the internet, worked great for a week then packed in again on Sunday. Not looking forward to phoning Orange up again. You're on the phone for an hour at a time then they say they'll call you back. Yeah, right........ twastards.

tablets are great. Iphone is just an overpriced tablet.

Better off getting a higher spec android tablet. No point in paying Apple-fanboy tax.

Yeah a few people have said chose different models over Apple, I have an iphone so i have a few accessories for that which might sway my decision, only thing i dont like is that you cant get flash player on the ipad so i cant watch football highlights and things like that. I dont want to use it work related, its more just to watch skygo and surf the net.

Well I use an Android tab and it actually persuaded me to choose android for my next phone. Before that I had had iphones. Other than the apple name I really dont see an advantage in ipad. I tend to use mine for watching vids, music and internet.

Its great just dragging and dropping content rather than messing about with iTunes and converting everything.

If you require a tablet your question would be "Does it have to be specifically an Apple product?"

If the answer is 'no' then go for one of the many excellent Android tablets.

My wife has a Toshiba one and that helped her decide to move entirely from the Apple World of Pain. No more iTunes disasters, no more missing film, mp3 and audiobooks going missing and, better still, no more iTunes on the PCs.

If you want to move files around then shove it near to your network and off you go.

I don't have one myself; for the only reason that I can't do database work on it and neither can I write code. So I am stuck with PCs and laptops. But if I had to go for a tablet myself then it would, without doubt, be an Android affair.

    they are fantastic.
I have an IPAD 1 and IPAD 2.
completely removes the need to boot up laptops and loads web pages much faster.
I like all the apps too and play a lot of the games on there.
I've borrowed a Galaxy tablet before and much prefer the IPAD.

IPad2 - best thing I've bought in a long time. East to connect to wifi and has faster webpage downloads than my Dell laptop.
Sexy as f@ck and would highly recommend !

I got the wife one and she loves it. The only downside is she spends all day on it.

That might be a selling point for some though:smiley:

My family are all apple mad, all have iPhones, I'm using my MacBook as we speak, even have a Mac Mini instead of a digi box in the living room. My brother has an iPad which he loves, but for me, I woudln't want one until they either allow flashplayer or come up with a decent solution!

I guess if you can put up with iTunes (pile of ****e program) and want to watch films then it's good. Apparently they're good for business use.

Otherwise it's a waste of money, considering high-spec laptops can be bought for £400 or so.
