Hi. I'm a PNE supporter(yes there is one), didn't go on the "friendly"on Saturday but it transpires the bar in the Bill Shankley Kop were the Leeds fans were, had to be closed due to fears over staff safety.Damage was caused elsewhere in the stand.Why?............Please can someone with an IQ above 10 (Leeds fan average) explain.
Leeds fans throwing beer and having a laugh. Coppers got aggressive and heavy handed so some leeds fans responded
You do know you don't have to be a twat, yes? We have our fair share of troublemakers, we know that, but many of the problems are exacerbated by a heavy handed police presence. I wasn't there myself but I heard there was a larger police escort than we get for Millwall away, and I very much doubt there would have been the same problems than if that wasn't the case.
Much much worse than that logi. Those fans showed why we have had to have a membership scheme for away games. All the complete idiots were there, all pissed up, giving **** to anyone who got in their way, being very aggressive and singing Munich song constantly. It was a nasty atmosphere and just going for a pee I felt i had smoked 20 bensons
It does. It's a shame but every club has them and when you travel in the numbers we do it's almost inevitable.
Nice to see you've made an account especially to have a go at 'some of us', and all your posts have been on here. Hope you're not too much in awe of the real Mighty Whites who've actually won stuff in the last 100 years. Anyhow... My understanding is that your staff ran out of beer, some very drunken Leeds fans took exception to this and obviously said something which made the bar-staff feel unsafe, so they stopped serving the few burgers and pies they still had remaining. (I never did try one of those butter pies by the way, is the hype deserved?) No idea how the Police charge started, but two mates I spoke to both said they were struck with a baton which was totally unnecessary. There was over-the-top policing all day from cameras in the face at Leeds City Centre in the morning to the Police trying (and failing) to escort Leeds fans to Deepdale and back when we'd arrived in Lancashire. And yet there were still no clashes between fans to my knowledge. Just shows how the Police can cause more trouble than they solve. There were a large number of Munich songs throughout the day, but I see no connection between this and any of the scuffles that may have occured in the concourse. And the smoking in toilets is unfortunate, but a side-effect of clubs not having smoking areas like Leeds do in our stands. I saw no damage to other areas of either the concourse or the stand. No seats ripped out, no damage to toilets, no torching of hotdog stands. Lots of the customary bullshit on Twitter about Leeds fans smashing up pubs and attacking people, which never happened - was that what brought you here, hodgeheg? All in all, it was a fairly standard Leeds United away game, and nothing people should get their knickers in a twist about if they're regular travellers with any club. All the best for next season, I've always enjoyed the games between our clubs. Except the 4-6. Let's not talk about that.
Sounds like a bit of a catch 22 situation going on. An element of Leeds fans have a certain reputation. Police forces increase their profile accordingly and their boss wants them to "stamp out" any trouble. Perhaps to make a name for himself/herself or just to protect the locals as he/she sees fit by adopting the best approach he/she can think of. A little disruption is created, and some of the Leeds fans get angry. The locals get scared and the police step in to restore order. Leeds fans retaliate and then it all gets blown out of proportion in urban folklore using Twitter etc. I agree the police, in most cases, should just take a step back and make a proper assessment of the situation but because of the "reputation" (and well earned over the years) they are not prepared to tolerate anything in fear of even further escalation. That's how I see it anyway and yes unfortunately it is a pretty regular occurrence with certain clubs that do have a big following on their travels.
Wouldnt surprise me if Old Bill gave up crap everywhere we go after the court case ruling! Probably put a few noses out of joint when it comes to overtime now.
I didn't hear the munich song once. I heard Paddy Kenny's having a party countless times. No mention of munich.
Dirty, dirty, Leeds United... Never had any trouble with OB at Preston, but on two occasions away at Barnsley, I met OB who seemed to have mixed me up with a recently escaped mass murderer.
i have that funny feeling that tells me it may be mighty quiet in leeds on saturday night, come on you shrews breath on em. floreat salopia!. shrews never throw beer they drink it.
Marko - half time down under the stand in the fug. About a 1000 dickheads singing it throughout. Not in the open
