I see this as a no-brainer, there is no way you can pick up a decent striker for anything below 2mill but Templeton is being banded around as costing around 1mill so I'd like to see a bid put in for him and if we need another striker then we can always go for a loanee.....

While I agree I do fear the target would be Boyd, I just hope this isn't a NW temptation to sell McCormack

Wooah Nellie, don't do it - McCormack is the future.

It wouldn't have bothered me a while back had we brought in some flair and creativity, however looking at what we have brought in so far I feel it would be a massive mistake to sacrifice McCormack - The key is NW hasn't the funds for 'both' so it looks like we are going to be seeing one new arrival and I doubt there is a Leeds fan in the country who would say that we need another striker over a right winger. So one new right winger or we sacrifice McCormack and get a winger and a striker, I guess it depends on who NW has in mind? Boyd and CMS would be a NO from me but Beckford and Templeton would receive a thumbs up.

I have a feeling NW would like to see if he could spark the goal scoring and assists combo of Boyd and CMS from their Peterborough days together.

Boyd is on a free, so this just wouldn't be the case

No he isn't, he has a year to run and a £1M price tag as far as I am aware?

No way will they get £1million for him. If we offered 500k they'd accept, maybe a little less.

We should get a striker with a bit of pace over a winger, if that's all we have the funds for.

Why? We already have Becchio, McCormack, Gray and Varney who can all play up front, but we have absolutely no width or creativity. We haven't replaced any of Howson, Gradel or Snodgrass, we desperately desperately need a winger, and it's got to be Templeton for me over Boyd, already better IMO and still has room to improve.

While I think we still need a striker, if we were to pick between the two it'd just have to be a winger. We are so weak in that area currently

Gray will be back up and I hope not anything more, and Varney has a very average goal record, even when he has played as a striker. I'd say that we did need one top striker in, but I do agree, a winger is probably more important. Ideally, we need both!

We already have two 20 goal strikers at the club! A striker is far from a priority IMO.

Actually I would prefer two quality wingers, keep McCormack and Becchio as the strikers, Somma, Varney and Gray as back-up. Two pacey wide players in the mould of Gradel

Totally agree Simon ... definitely Templeton for me. In addition to the strikers you have listed, NW should also be looking to use Dom Poleon from the bench and be prepared to give him his opportunity ... Owen was the same age when he was given his opportunity at Liverpool. The young guy has shown he is not phased in the company of the big boys and deserves a chance.
