    gb soccer team suffer from the 'english syndrome' exiting at quater finals and on pens. Thanks for helping the home nations retain independance status footy- wise

    Can't speak for other football associations but I wish the English FA would look at the success we have achieved in these and the past Olympics and somehow implement changes which could actually put us in with a chance of winning something.

    I was just happy to see big Dave Ki and his dodgy barnet being the one to net the last pen.

    Was worried if he leaned his head to one side he would fall over due to weight of that hairdo.

    I'm not sure we should even be involved in the football at Olympic level. There are athletes who train hard for four years and practically shed their blood for their nation and half of our so-called stars don't even turn up so we have to field what is realistically a below-par team. Of course, it's not just us. Spain were rubbish, too. Perhaps they should drop football altogether.
