Just got ne new 43 inch flat screen installed...gotta love those tax returns.... So the big question is... PS3 or XBOX ?...got the jist of Ps controls but heard the games and graphics on XBOX are better... Anyone know (or care?)... All replies greatly received.....allready got the Wii. Oh yeah and just to make it QPR related..I promise to buy FIFA 2013 and play as QPR always !! OK? Thanks all
Been looking at that thread title for ages and couldnt find the spelling mistake...even though i knew it looked wrong........
No difference in the systems what so ever.....Graphics on the the PS3 and Xbox are very similar using 5 year old graphics cards, Xbox online is apparently more reliable, but you have to pay monthly for it, where as PS3 is free. PS3 plays Blu-Ray movies as well and is a far better media player. But they are so similar and if you already are familiar with PS3 controls, then go that way.
Don't buy either as in the end you life will pass you buy ... get yourself a longboard and a goat what would could a man want?
I dont have either but the xbox is not reliable, I think you have more than a 50% chance of it crapping out within a year. Some people are on their 4th or 5th box. Do a search on the red ring of death. Not sure if they fixed it but Id go for the PS3. No monthly payment a BR drive which the xbox doesnt have more reliable. Just dont get anything nintendo as its 100% kiddy based.
I think I must be the only 40-something Luddite dinosaur that has no interest whatsoever in a Wii, Xbox, PS or whatever. I know that I miss out on some of the social side of such things and my kids speak another language when they talk about the games they play, but I just don't see the fascination. I don't know why. Perhaps its because I was spent as a youth with all those evenings in the pub on Pacman, Asteroids and Space Invaders...?
Buy one of these with a few upgrades 64GB of ram 3/4 drives, Two ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB graphics cards install a emulator and play any game now and in the future. http://www.apple.com/uk/macpro/ ... OK they are 7K but i would't swap mime for anything and will last for the next ten years
ATI 5770's are old.....and paying 7k for that is so overpriced....Ive got an i7 and 12GB RAM and a Nvidia GTX680........that can play ainthing and the total system cost me 1/7th of that overpriced Apple bollox.
I just bought a PS3 a few days ago for the reasons people above have already stated: Blu-Ray player, free to play online, excellent multimedia (iPlayer, Netflix etc can all be streamed through it to your TV) etc... I played my mates Xbox 360 all year in my student house last year and still went for the PS3 when it came to buying my own console, so maybe that tells you something! As for those suggesting building a PC gaming rig, keep in mind that unless you go for the top spec equipment like Franckster has, your system will become obsolete very quickly as every new game that comes out tries to go one better graphics-wise, everything gets optimised for the new hardware releases (found this out to my cost after building a mid-range system a couple of years back that now wouldn't be able to play COD:MW3 very well at all). Also, to get that high-spec gaming rig, you'd be paying a lot more than for a dedicated games console such as an Xbox or PS3. Anyway, hope you enjoy whatever you go with!
Lads: its about the harmony of the components and the operating system ... you have to use windows and there my friends is your downfall. Show me a PC windows based system you can buy under 7K without severe customisation and patches that will compete and perform and remain stable then I will agree with you ... There isn't one ... they are getting closer for sure but i am afraid are still a long way away ... ask yourself why us professionals use them?. Mac's are expensive for reason ... they work and work quickly. I suppose you have to use both to know the different and I do... we are not talking about the dross you can buy in Dixons where the average PC has to dumbed down by severe virus software ... a average PC lasts 15 months cheap and very vary nasty and the biggest con out there. Apple are getting no better as they now seem to rule the planet
Thanks CORKeR. I've just read some of the other posts on this thread and they might as well be written in Swahili for all the sense they make to me!
Your right to a degree.....Proffesionals would choose the Apples over PC for those reasons....BUT when it comes to playing games, PC wins hands down...but this has somewhat swayed off the topic. PS3 or Xbox are great at what they do.....small, cheap media centres/game consoles...that have no hassles or issues and Fifa will always be best on your console, with your mates...be it Xbox or PS3.
