Obsessed? Hahaha never. You're a club trying to get out of circling the drain. You were lucky to even be top half after what can only we called a poor season for a club of your so called standing. Have fun emulating... it's tough job
Don't worry, cream always rises to the top, one swallow does not make a summer. We have the makings of an excellent squad, we have rich owners, the club is debt free, and we are building for a bright future. Things could not be better. But thanks for the concern.
Good point Mancini. Wigan aren't ready made to play great football, but at Swansea we've got an ethos running through the club. Managers come and go but the club remains constant - we'll always play good football no matter what manager we have. If Laudrup leaves for a bigger club in a few years time - no worries, we pick ourselves up and carry on marching up the tables like we have for the past decade. No man is bigger than the club - and the club is the driving force behind our acheivements. Not bitter about Martinez/Rodgers leaving, not at all, they served the club well. Just don't nick our best players eh?
Sure whatever! Would you care to expand and explain how we were lucky or maybe you can tell me why we would want to emulate a club that finished with a -7 GD?
You can play all the pretty football you like, but this is a results based industry. Rodgers got you into the prem and kept you there without sacrificing style. That was an outstanding achievement, and the reason he was given a chance at one of the biggest clubs in Europe, or the world. He earn t his chance......
Form is temporary lad, class is permanent. A couple of bad seasons does not detract from the fact that the mighty LFC is the greatest football club in the history of the game. Don't forget it.
I love how small timers feel the need to tell us how it is. Yes, last season was diabolical. We are aware of that. But we still finished 8th, most teams would take that at the start of the season...Newcastle fans were happy to finish top half. Don't know how we will do this season, no one does. It could be a disaster or it could be a fairy tale. But the ****e you lot sprout about Plan Bs and Martinez's hard work is just laughable. When Martinez left, what did he do? Did he stay behind and go through his training regimes and schedules before ****ing off to Wigan? I doubt it. Super, you are most probably right about BR's time at Reading and I agree with you. You can't just apply this philosophy to any squad and expect results to flow within 6 months, Guardiola would have struggled in the same position. At Liverpool, BR has some good players and a great academy to work on. I hope to see him given time before we get to see some good football.
Erm... the meaning of form is your performance levels over a few weeks or months. Underachieving you may be... but you are no longer the biggest club in the world. One time, maybe, definitely not now, you aren't even top 10. Respect for LFC for the history... not for the present. Not at all.
To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't mind you doing a decent job of next season... but not at the cost of our best players. Not bitter, just protective of our squad, we are 'small timers' no more - we proved a point and are hoping not to be punished for it. Just seems that many LFC fans can't handle the fact it will take time for Brendan to settle, and if he doesn't you'll want him out quicker than the man who made you a household name. No loyalty in football. It's despicable.
For starters, to be considered great, you have to have five European cups, as the only English club with that accolade, it would be fair to say we are the greatest English club and amongst the very best in the world. Any one who attempts to deny this, is just bitter or highly deluded. Fact.
I think the papers have meddled a lot this summer. I think the press want a fued between us and Swansea so they aretrying to create one. I think they would love one with us and Spurs to. Its hard to know whats true.
So by your reckoning Forest are bigger than Chelsea, Red Star Belgrade is better than Manchester City and Benfica are just as good as Juventus. That bull and you know it, history is history, it's the present - MAKING history - that really counts. Find it hilarious that not only do you believe this to be true but you are accusing me of delusion.
Come on you know the rules by know, they will all be screaming and kicking about ripping the heart out of their team etc and then if we do get him they will say he is overated and they do need him anyway.
And yes, Williams is more than a tidy player, he's one of the best CBs outside the top 4 and would replace Agger with no sweat. Only at a massive outlay for you though
