Well... it looks like Rodgers has realised that without the core of the Swansea squad he'll get nowhere this season. Joe Allen and now Ashley Williams, Scott Sinclair only has a year left on his contract as well.

His little devious move of offering Allen a contract with a £15m release clause seems like it may pay off. With Liverpool not looking like gaining much money from the Carroll deal until next year, it looks like you can't spend much more... and you're gonna have to hope that you, a so called 'top european club' can emulate the Swans, if not nip in for their players and hope that gels the whole squad into the Swans way of football.

We'll carry on playing great football regardless... it's just whether you can sign the players to do the job. And as we have them, you're no doubt shameless enough to go against an agreement stopping you. For a club with such history it's a shame that you can't operate within the realm of moral decency.

Good luck for the season ahead... and don't try and buy out our squad in January eh?

Paper talk. Nothing more. Its easy to link us with Swansea players but the links with Dempsey and Ramirez are stronger. Rodgers has also spoken about looking at loans from abroad.

Moral decency? Standard practice more like...as said in another thread...Arry did it at Spurs, Moureen at Chelsea. But as it's Liverpool, the rules change and it's unethical. Your worse than the Newcastle fans, they hated us for buying Carroll at first...you fail to see that receiving £15m for Joe Allen would be very good business for you if it were to happen. The Mags are not so bitter anymore, as they realised that £35m made them a better squad.

Oh dear looks like someone is displaying a bit of delusion. Brendan plays one way - the Swansea way. No Plan B, no tactical shift whatsoever. Rigid to the point of predictable. I watched your game against Gomel and you were poor, your squad looks like it hasn't reported for pre-season training yet.

Be careful what you say... because you're gonna attempt to play our style of football. Whether you pull it off... well, that's yet to be discovered.

Problem is Joe Allen is the core player in our midfield. And, you made an agreement with us not to touch our players... and flagrantly broke it. Not the way to conduct business at a football club.

Ahhhahahaha priceless. Swansea finished 11th just behind us last season. To me, that looks like whatever "Plan" BR used...it worked pretty ****ing well. Did his lack of Plan B fail to get you in to Europe in your first PL season??? Diddums.

    Must try harder. ;) <ok>

Rodgers guided you into the Prem for the first time and had you playing terrific (sorry for using Redknapp chat) football that resulted in a highly respectable 11th place finish, the pundits hailed the style of football as fantastic.

But all this is forgotten, and Rodgers is now mr no plan B, and all the good work was done by Martinez and Sousa.

This can only be put down as bitterness.

You're right there, making such 'gentlemen agreements' is not the way to conduct business. <ok>

If we wernt showing interest he would sign for them.

Drink Chablis, Go on the Liverpool board, Watch the athletics, go on the Liverpool board, sleep, go on the Liverpool board.

There is a term for this type of behavior.

    It's called obsession.

re. Stevie G - Well to be honest Swansea have been playing good football for longer than just one season. Just because the gloryhunting brigade doesn't look below the Prem level, doesn't mean that we were non-existent.

re. Zingy - It was in the contract between the clubs, rumour is we are going to UEFA over this.

re. Mancini - I never thought Brendan was a top top manager because of his inability to adapt. He failed at Reading because they weren't set up to play his type of football, he succeeded here because we already played that way. Laughing all the way to the bank with the £7m compensation money to be honest. And Sousa was poor, we learnt from him defensively but that was about it.

Yea, looks like the gentleman agreement is well and truly broken, so we might as well bring the lad to the pool.

Yes, I hear what you are saying, but I have made this point before: If Martinez is such a genius, how come Wigan are constantly flirting with relegation, whilst Rodgers got Swansea up to 11th with a smaller squad constructed at a fraction of the cost?

    Explain that one.

I did not hear many grumblings from you lot before he left, so don't be surprised when you get accused of sour grapes.
