Fulham are set to gazump Queens Park Rangers in the £7m battle to sign Celtic midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/scottish/gossip/
NOT BBC Gossip, just the BBC "reporting" what has been written in The Sun Who offers what in the way of a transfer fee doesn't have much to do with it in the end. If Celtic accept offers it will be down to the player to decide if he wants to leave and who he wants to play for. If Fulham offer £7m (and it is accepted) Ki Sung-Yeung does not have to accept and might stay put. We could then offer £6m and Ki Sung-Yeung might tell Celtic that he wants to go to the Rs, so Celtic may have to settle for less to get the money in. The sHammers recently worked out a deal with Liverpool for Carroll. It was all for nothing as Carroll said "No". It's all bullsh!t anyway ... it was in The Sun.
I think we are still in the mix and it could be a deal that sees Bothroyd going the other way. Think it may depend on Hargreeves though. If he proves his fitness and is available on a free the money may be best spent elsewhere.
A bit pompous. Al Fayed and his managers have proved to be very shrewd operators in the transfer market down the years. When it comes to transfer fees rather than wages we are not pushing any boundaries. Feet on the ground please.
Pompous is my middle name Seriously, sparky can sort it out if we still keen on him. Korean Ki is good young player ,but not so good that my feets dont stay on the ground.
It's just an agent doing a class A job! What better way to get things moving and get the best deal for their player than putting out a story that your nearest rivals gonna snatch him from under your nose?
