Right. Allegedly we have brokered a massive shirt deal worth, what? £20m a year? We are a premiership club with plenty of Sky dosh behind us. We made a huge amount of money on Henderson and a profit on Bent, Kenwynne, etc, etc. We have slashed the wage bill by a minimum of 16 players this close season. We have probably the biggest (stupidest) fanbase who love this club - including me. WITHOUT Ellis, we should be flush. I'm not talking £10m flush on a so-so relegated (x 2) striker. I'm talking £20m for one good one and £10m for his support. PLUS whatever we need. Yes our region isn't London, Cheshire or even Brum..... BUT Splash the cash ffs. It is there, and I'm losing the faith. x
I agree with the money aspect BoE but I expect MON to spend a fair amount and shock us with at least 2 quality signings possibly 4.
Would you pay the transfer fee up front or instalments? What would the add ons be? Similarly with wages what would their bonuses be? A loyalty clause? A relegation clause?
I only ask these questions because I can't answer them. That's why I don't run a football club or tell people how to run theirs.
Becoming tedious this "losing the faith" mullarkey, will not make it happen you know, just winding yourself up. How did people deal with issues like this before the interweb?
Read all about it in the stop press of Evening Chronicle, Echo, or next days papers. We signed the "team of all talents" (6 established internationals) over a period of about a week. Mind you all players on same wages, no agents, no contracts etcc. If you were a talent and happy you were kept via the retained list at the beginning of each season.
Bobby ne point stressing over it MoN will sign when he can/is good and ready to. But IMHO he will sign just who we need.
Isn't your shirt sponsorship mostly performance based? With the maximum of £20m being practically impossible?
We have probably the biggest (stupidest) fanbase who love this club Isn't this point obvious? Why would other fanbases love your club? It's like saying we have the most sunderland supporters who support Sunderland. Odd.
