Unless my memory has failed me, I seem to remember Bale being somewhat of a freekick specialist for Wales and Southampton yet he never takes any free kicks for us, which has puzzled me! Ok I tell a lie, he scored one free kick against the gooners in his early days yet that's it, If anyone here knows Bale or any members of his family then remind him he has the ability to score outstanding free kicks.
He scored 2 early doors in our play-off campaign and hit the beans with that, but i don't recall him scoring any afte that.
Yes think Bale scored around five free kicks in his one full season for us, goals we could have done with later on. I thought he hit double figures for Spurs last season - all from open play? Maybe if Modric leaves Bale will get more free-kicks, surprised he hasn't pushed his way to the front of the free kick taker queue but Spurs should definitely have him blast a few next season!
