Talk ****e are saying that Debuchy is heading for Inter so maybe this is a bit or 2+2.

IF... and it is a very big IF we don't sign Debuchy then I'd take this lad in a heartbeat.

Is he not supposed to have an awful attitude? I know we can use HBA as an example of helping overcome this, but if we got Douglas and him as well all with disruptive attitudes it could cause problems.

 

My cousin was raving about him a couple of years ago... apparently a favorite on Footy Manager

 

Two seasons ago, 2009-2010 he was magnificent. Creative, fast, solid in defending. However, he developed an attitude because of it. Since then he has been poor, two seasons in which he was invisable. Ajax got two championships but not because of him. In fact, they lost the Johan Cruijf Schaal because of a faulty backpass of him due to lack of concentration. Luuk de Jong scored the only goal back then.

If you were to sign him you'd be buying an inconsistent player filled with hot air who hasn't played a good streak of matches in two seasons.

Sounds like a big gamble... We have a good team attitude at the moment and he might well ruin it.. However two decent players from the same country (Douglas and Wiel) is never a bad thing because the communication between them will be better.

Certainly a talented player but has not progressed much since he caught the eye a couple of seasons ago. He was linked with Man U and several other big guns at the time. He has been tagged with a bit of a stinky attitude which may help explain his lack of further progression. I have my doubts he's the type of character we need. I still think Debuchy will happen, but if not I'd prefer a left back.

 

Douglas is Brazillian, and he speaks a wee bit of Dutch but not much. Not enough to make it work on the pitch i think.

Coming sunday the Johan Cruijff Schaal match is going to be played. It's similar to the Community Shield. Ajax will play PSV Eindhoven in the Amsterdam Arena. I will make a match thread of it with and will add links so that you guys can see for yourself what the Eredivisie is like.

Still seems logical to me that if we don't get Debuchy to go for a left back rather than a right back. Talksport rubbish for me.
