Don't think it really matters but I guess it is City related. Nicky Featherstone to sign for Walsall (or Warsaw on the old school and good Soccer AM) after a successful trial
N.F. = From Hull City to Hereford to Walsall. Interesting and glad that he is on the way up again. A good league one player when he wants to be,, imo O/T. Tom Heaton now confirmed as Bristol City GK signing after the Watford shambles from Cardiff. O/T. Buszcky has been wanted by Reading previously and now Swansea could be in for him IF they lose Joe Allen and Scott Sinclair to Liverpool.
I always liked Nicky Featherstone. And so did Phil Brown. It seemed to be him and Cairney who got their breaks in the first team from Browny. He always seemed to have potential. At least he's getting some game time and it's a talent not wasted.
I actually hadn't heard of him until we were linked to him... which means i don't have much of an opinion of him but I think as long as he's backup and not getting paid ridiculous amounts then I don't see the big deal. Also I always reserve judgement until they start to play... I don't expect him to be great, considering the opinions I've read but what if he does a decent job for us? then who cares who his dad is or who he used to play for?
I dont think he's any better than Cooper and certainly 4th choice @ best! This signing is purely to ensure Alex Bruce has a wage coming in, which is wrong
I remember when Chris Lee played for us when TD was in charge & everyone hated him as he wasn't that good & he was Jeff's lad so everyone put it together that he only got games because of his dad, however I saw him quite a few times & although he was not good at passing or shooting, defensively he was decent from what I remember, certainly had a few good games in his day. Hopefully AB won't start too many games as he'll get criticised & can't really win with his dad being boss, but if he comes off the bench or does well then he may not get slated. Despite what has been said about him I hope that people don't judge him until he's had a couple of games in the first team!
Any signing who is justified by fans on the basis that 'he probably won't play that much anyway' is obviously not very good...
Not sure if this is still City and rivals, or just City? I've lost track! Anyhow...Watford have made SEVEN signings! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19060497 The Pozzos obviously made them offers they couldn't refuse
I think he is a decent player. Not sure what game it was but I though he was man of the match, he was in the right place at the right time and did fantastic so that's all I can base my opinion on just that game so I am happy. I'd imagine bradley and cooper will go out on loan so that leaves us with good competition for the 2 central defenders. Last season we would have been in a lot of crap if Hobbs and Chester got injured, this season we will have good cover. He is free and knows the manager I see it as a good signing.
I remember him having an absolute blinder away at Cardiff. They were unbeaten at home in 18 months, we were ****e, we went there and won 4-3, including a double from Lee with one a 30 yard screamer, a Steve Moran goal and a Matt Bound winner in injury time the only time we were in front all game. It was astonishing stuff and our bus got pelted with rocks on the way out. Chris Lee was also part-time with us, which was weird. I know Dolan was a knob but we had this following on from a 2-3 win at Cambridge the previous away game (I think) with a Linton brown hat-trick which remain two of my favourite ever away games. Happy days! edit - just found this
Might hear something soon about Elmohamady, one way or the other. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...-talks-with-sunderland-boss-o-neill-1-4788523
