    I like the way how supporters of all countries seem to embrace each other, saw on the TV the other day the Gabon game and the way them and the locals were with each other was fantastic.

    The way it should be, football should bring us together rather than drive us apart.

    The Olympic Spirit seems to be doing a good job of bringing us together.

    Lot's of controversy surrounding the Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen, took 5 secs off her PB, and swam the last 50m of her event faster than the winning man in the mens event.
    Let's hope it's one of those outstanding performances that can happen in huge events such as this, and nothing to do with cheating, the Chinese in all fairness have an appalling record of doping.
    One thing I have learned, samples are continually tested for years after events, because technology is improving all the time.

    That young lass Ruta Meilutyte swam well last night only 15 and taking gold. Pity she's Lithuanian, but trains at the same college as Tom Daley.
    Good to see we have a facility to bring on young talent.

    I have a personal view that a lot of advanced doping goes on with certain countries that we are years away from uncovering details of.

    It was sad to hear, in the Tom Daley documentary last week that kids are forced into Athletics and don't do any schooling.... just so China can give a good showing to the world. Kind of feel sorry for the poor bairns over there who are losing their childhoods to a Communist regime who watch their every move. A mate of mine (English lad) lives in Bejing and Freedom is a rare commodity.

    Michael Phelps 19 Olympic medals and 15 of them have been gold, unbelievable achievement. Also he only just missed out on being the only ever Olympian to win the same event three times in a row.
