Rvp may well be sold, while wenger has stated the following regarding Giroud and pod indiacting they might not feature against sunderland. With current personnel I would seriously give afobe the nod. His finishing in preseason has been poor but generally it's pretty good and better than chamakhs and park at any rate. Am I forgetting anyone? Would love a new striker but I genuinely feel we will simply get Niang. Second option is obviously selling Rvp after the season starts which i would rather not see though there is a case for such an argument assuming they income from his sale won't be spent. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11670/7950214/Wenger-protecting-new-boys
oh yeah good shout but like you said doubt it otherwise he would have been put there in a preseason friendly.
If Arsene decides to keep Chamakh then he has to bite the bullet and start him. Otherwise why on earth having him in the squad??
Besiktas the latest club to be linked to him. http://news.arseblog.com/2012/07/besiktas-chamakh-is-on-our-shopping-list/
We have replaced him. I think Podolski and Giroud will replace his goals. The German will lack some of the sheer flair and creativity of RVP but he will give us aggression, pace and industry. While Giroud will give us other options. I would rather see us sign another top creative player. Sahin would be my first choice(always rated him highly) but Carzlora would be a great signing too. -------Song------Wilshere------- -------------Sahin--------------- Walcott-----Podolski------TheOX or TheOx------Podolski-------Carzola -------------Giroud--------------
Honestly don't get why they've been given such a long break... Giroud barely played at the Euros only coming on as sub and Podolski was dropped for the quarter finals and only played 45mins against Italy which was over a month ago. There are 3 weeks left to the season so hoping they'll be fit and somewhat sharp by then Although the longer we go without selling RVP the more I think Wenger will chose to keep him at the club
I'd be surprised if Podolski doesn't start no matter what Wenger says, I think he's trying to take the pressure off them in the early stages so if they don't hit the ground running(or scoring) there won't be the media focus that Torres and Carroll(for example) suffered from. I can see Podolski doing well from the off, even though you've got a tough start. Giroud I know nothing about so I can't comment.
