Sad news about Leon best

Just heard on twitter that Leon best is out for the full season with snapped knee liagaments. Gutted for the lad I was hoping he would have a great season at rovers I real worker. Anybody heard any more about it ?? Hope this is not as bad as it first looks and if so fingers crossed on a success full recovery besty

Has a history with knee injuries, hope he comes back stronger. £3 million for him looks even better now

If that's true, I'm gutted for the bloke. Always gave his all for us.

 

Celtic were in for him, looks like we dodged a bullet too!!!

Decent player whenever I've seen him, unlucky not to get more first team games but will never outplace Ba or Cisse for you.

 

Sad. I like Besty, always seemed like a top bloke.

Ouch, hope he recovers and gets back asap.

 

Was better for us than some people gave him credit for. Wasn't frightened to put his head down for the ball and almost got it kicked off a time or two. Bumped into him once in Gateshead and he seemed like a real friendly chap off the field too.

 

This, people can cite his goals to games record, but when Ba was scoring, it was Best doing the dogs work, much like Ba was when Cisse was finding the net!

 

I was sad to see him go as i thought he was a great back-up and someone we knew could come in and do a good job when required. When Carroll left there were questions over how we would do and Best stepped up admirably.

However, the way some people are commenting you'd think he was dead! Hopefully he'll be back before the end of the season and perhaps be able to help Rovers push for promotion after easter.

 

He's not young anymore and hasn't had a full, injury free season in years - some careers never recover (my tip - switch to Kieron Dyer's agent!)

 

Thats a real shame. I wish him a full speedy recovery.

Gutted for him but can't help thinking we've dodged a bullet with this sale. Never really had a decent spell of full fitness.

For the record I think Best is a very decent striker and very under rated.

Having said that though I completely agree that we've got a great deal here, tripled the money we paid for him and hes never fit more than a few games at a time.

Good business again from the men up top.
