Could it be for his versatility... i.e. can play LB/RB/CB... ideal for Europe...

Fair point, but he can only play in those positions if he's fit...

I'm not that keen on him being honest. Certainly not as a left back, can't say I've seen him play in the middle. He looked like a centre back pretending to be a left back the times I watched him. To be fair I've only seen him play 3 times, but he was poor in 2 and average in the other. He had a shocker versus England, got raped several times and just generally looked out of his depth. He was only just back from injury though so you have to cut him a bit of slack.

All that said, if Carr likes who am I to argue!

I could see both coming in, both can play different positions Debuchy RB,RM and Pieters LB,CB and then a CF and the team looks like it could handle a long season

If you research Pieters' injuries you will find he's just been unfortunate with a metatarsal break, he tried to return too early and broke it again. Unlike Michael Owen and Leon Best who have regular major muscle and ligament injuries, Pieters has had bone breaks like Ben Arfa. I wouldn't say Ben Arfa is injury prone because he's broken his leg.

Don't think Ben Arfar broke his own leg, he had a little help from a certain Mr deJong. He even brought his other leg around HBA to make sure he completed the job. Stayed on the pitch too.

I'm aware but still, a break is not the same as muscle and ligament injuries regardless of how it's inflicted.

    Here it is:

My take on the transfer rumour is that it's bullocks. Here is why.

Erik Pieters, 24, has been injured most of last season. And with most i mean 80%(26 matches, including europe, international games). First he had a metatarsal fracture in his left foot which took him out of the game for 5 months. Just when he got back to full fitness in April, he fractured it AGAIN. He has been out ever since, still recovering.

He is therefor not even close to be a target for any EPL team at this point.

A recurring injury, not a good thing. Could eventually put him out of the game.
