Best Driver: Raikkonen Worst Driver: Maldonado/Schumacher Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): Grosjean Best Team: Lotus Worst Team: Mercedes Best Overtake: Raikk on Grosjean Funniest-moment: Hamilton complaining about backmarkers (erm Hockenheim) Most Surprising Result: Raikkonen Least Surprising Result: Schumacher DNF Special Mention to: Senna Race Rating: 4/10 - lack of overtaking killed this race Best Commentator overall: Brundle
Best Driver: Lewis Hamilton -Kimi was superb on race day but Lewis was just utterly faultless all weekend and controlled the race along with his team as comfortably as Schumacher and Ferrari in their heyday. Worst Driver: Maldonado - Out performed by team mate Bruno and yet another misdemeanor in the race cost his team. Should have been in the points this weekend. Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): Grosjean - a solid weekend from Romain. He and Renault will be delighted with a 2-3 finish but will be desperately seeking that win. On this form it will come. Best Team: McLaren - got the strategy wrong with Button but were pitch perfect with Hamilton all weekend. Should have been two on the podium though. Worst Team: Mercedes - As Brundle said this weekend confirmed their poor pace last weekend. They have seriously fallen back. Best Overtake: Button on Vettel at the start. For a race with next to nothing in terms of overtaking action, this was actually a fantastic and wise move. Funniest-moment: nothing Most Surprising Result: Bruno Senna finding a bit of form. Too late to save his drive I feel. Least Surprising Result: Maldonado penalty Special Mention to: Bruno Senna - great result to finish 7th Race Rating: 5/10 - a poor race but Lewis will not complain. He controlled this race better than Simon Rattle controls the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Best Commentator overall: Ben Edwards...again.
Just seen Webber's start on the BBC highlights and changed my overtake to that. I thought it was obvious fairly early on there'd be no overtaking. I only find drivers following closely exciting when there's a chance they can overtake, but there wasn't. No one had to defend at all when they were under pressure, it was like Monaco again but without the cool slow motion shots of cars drifting through the swimming pool section.
Well, I think you're in the majority here, judging by everyone's posts. Certainly, I'd have appreciated more overtaking than there was but I enjoyed it nevertheless, partly because it was a good race for Hamilton and Senna.
Best Driver: Hamilton. Peerless throughout the weekend and judged the race to perfection. Worst Driver: The ineptitude of a Mercedes geriatric made me cringe to be associated with what should be the cream of motor racing. Best Rookie: Grosjean. But actually, Pic's best ever performance almost claims this. Best Team: Lotus. Worst Team: Mercedes: At least HRT are justified in being that far back. Best Overtake: Alonso on Perez but also several of those mentioned above. Funniest-moment: The geriatric couldn't park inside the white lines*. Most Surprising Result: The geriatric causing an abortion of the start: perhaps he's forgotten more than he ever knew? (sic) Least Surprising Result: The geriatric causing an abortion of the start: perhaps he's forgotten more than he ever knew? (sic) Special Mention to: The geriatric; but perhaps out of sympathy, I'll forget the reason… Race Rating: 4.98/10 Best Commentator overall: Ben Edwards by a country mile. *This was the reason for the aborted start and the reason for green and amber lights.

It was only intriguing for those that hadn't realised early on (seemingly a few people here and the McLaren strategists) that no-one was going to be able to overtake all weekend when the cars/drivers were remotely evenly matched. The commentators did a great job of trying to make out that something might happen, and I was hoping like most that a few driver's tyres might start to go off so that something might happen but really, it was pretty obvious that nothing was going to happen when Vettel got stuck behind Button for so long, and then Button got stuck behind Senna too. The only tension was that between me and the wife, who tolerates F1 when it's remotely interesting for her too but isn;t a happy bunny when there's really nothing going on and the timing screen is more interesting that what's going on on the TV.
Best Driver:Hamilton, All round perfection Worst Driver:Maldonado Best Rookie:Grosjean Best Team:Lotus, Getting closer to that win Worst Team:Toro Rosso, Is anyone trying in that team ? Good point! It's not a proper F1 team with ambition, any real purpose or chance to improve; that's its problem, unfortunately for those involved. Its sole aim is to find the next Vettel. I thought we had the lower formulae for that purpose.
Best Driver: Raikkonen Worst Driver: Schumacher or Maldonado Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): Grosjean Best Team: Lotus Worst Team: Mercedes Best Overtake:Senna round the outside of Perez at turn 2 - I remember it Miggins!! Funniest-moment: Vettel calling for help Most Surprising Result: Hulkenberg outside the points - he's on a good run at the moment, surprised he didnt score, though that may have been the track not suiting the Force India Least Surprising Result: Maldonado hitting someone Special Mention to: Hamilton - pretty much dominated the entire weekend Race Rating: 7/10 Best Commentator overall: DC
