No one will take moneybags Adebayor, not Tottenham, not QPR not anyone Football agent Phil Smith, who played a key role in Emmanuel Adebayorâs move to City in 2009, has told TalkSPORT that the Togolese strikerâs move to White Hart Lane could fall apart. Moreover, he went on to add that although rumours suggest otherwise, QPR are not likely to swoop for the player. Smith told TalkSPORT, âHe [Adebayor] is quite ruthless when it comes to getting what he wants. I think itâs a deal that will die on its backside so who is it that is going to come and give moneybags Adebayor the money that he wants other than moneybags QPR and I donât think theyâd even be interested in him.â The Metz graduate has played for French club Monaco before moving to the Premier league with Arsenal in 2006. After three years in North London, Adebayor joined Man City in 2009 for a whopping sum of £25 million. However, following the arrivals of Dzeko and Balotelli in the following years, the player became surplus to needs at the Etihad. He spent the second half of the 2010-11 season with Real Madrid while last season he was loaned out to Tottenham Hotspur. His year at Tottenham was highly fruitful as he grabbed 17 Premier League goals in 33 appearances. Both clubs were willing to consider a permanent move but the player, who would see a massive drop in his £170,000-a-week wages, has demanded that the entire transfer fee be granted to him and this has irked City officials. City were ready to suffer a great loss and sell the 28 year-old at just £5 million, but his ridiculous demand has put the move in jeopardy. QPR were rumoured to be planning a swoop for the striker, but it appears that the African looks set for a season on the sidelines. If Smithâs words are taken into account, it is unlikely to see the forward move out of Etihad this summer and Tottenham also appear to have shifted their attention to Dortmundâs Robert Lewandowski.
I am not surprised nobody wants him He is very greedy and has a habit of being lazy, simular to Zamora but maybe a bit better. Waste of money
The only question I'd ask is - given the same service, are we sure he'd get more goals than Cisse? Then factor in the money and you have your answer.
Not great but a very effective goal scorer on his day, Adebayor. Worth the money? Maybe. Worth the agg? Perhaps not. Couldn't see him convincing us of his R'ness in the way Cisse has for example.
He would really put a dent in the wallet. But if we did try and sign him then I doubt you'd hear many people complaining!
17 goals in 31 games, the Spuds will break their wage structure to keep him. He gives huge amounts of money to charity, builds hospitals in his home country - apparently getting income for this is a key part of his negotiations. He will take a pay cut to go to Spuds, even if he is their top earner, and wants the moneybags at Citeh to give him a lump of cash for his charities. If we can afford him he would be a great acquisition. No way it will happen though.
After what he did to the Arsenal fans after scoring for Man City against them just after moving from Arsenal, I wouldnt want that to$$er anywhere near QPR......the disrespect that showed and the fact that he is on £170k a week!!! Not even worth thinking about him!
