http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19036487 To me "hopefully by October" means he will definitely miss the first half of the season, and might just might miss the whole season knowing how well our players recover.
He said "might be this week, september, october"... meaning they just don't know. Now it's a definite statement that he will not be ready before October.
While healing from his ankle --> stress fracture While healing from his stress fracture --> flare old knee problem While healing from old knee problem --> flare old ankle problem Repeat.
According to the BBC, Wenger said: "Having Wilshere and Diaby back will be like two new signings". Make of that what you will, but pinning our hopes on two perpetually injured lads, as talented as they are when fit, seems rather short sighted, no? That said, Le Prof never gives too much away, so who's to say?
Feel sorry for the lad. He's by no means my favourite person but he's very talented and has had some rotten luck, I hope this is not going to be another season of setbacks for him.
Think we are doing the right thing this time. Last season, we tried to rush him back and he picked up a knee injury. This time they are clearly treating him with extra caution.
Really sorry to hear this news guys, I hope he recovers soon with no more set backs. So sad to see such a young talent have such horrible injury struggles.
The is no cloud without a silver lining. The boy has been kicking the ball non stop for most of his life. Now his body is having a much needed rest. As doctors say any long term injury has its long term benefits.
How many professional players had a full one and half season away from the game at 19 y.o. and came back better players for it? Even Ramsey was just 9 months out, and he wasn't recognizable from the player he was before the injury. I think this is disastrous for him, and will expect him to be a shadow of his former self for at least a full season after he comes back. Better to be pleasantly surprised if it turns out otherwise.
Positive news is that is seems like we are signing some cover for him so that's good news. We really are bare in midfield right now...
Quality player, but never known someone to be out for so long consecutively through injury. Hope he comes back as strong as he was before.
I really feel for him, a top guy like him doesn't deserve this luck. Shame. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/20032011/58/premier-league-wilshere-spat-spurs-fan-cabbie.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ere-started-fight-led-girls-broken-elbow.html
Is our medical team piss poor? Is our training regime wrong? These injuries just seem ridiculous. Sagna getting a second leg break at the end of last season just seemed to highlight how something is terribly wrong at our club. I think everyone could see Sagna's form was dropping and he was losing pace at the end of last season. I wonder why the staff didn't see that coming.
I just can't believe that people are even using this thread to insult players. No wind-up opportunity must be allowed to go by, I guess.
October sounds about right, Wilshere still has to go through a preseason training regime to become match fit, not to mention the fact that he's been out of for a year so I suspect he will also need some additional fitness training to get him up to match level, and then he would need some reserve games as well etc.
