Although we have to move on as a Club, we should always remember the effort and contribution players put in for us in helping getting us to where we are. Thank you Dan Harding
Yes he's definitely signed for Forest - is on their official site holding up the shirt. Not sure the paperwork was any issue, maybe Saints being funny..Good luck Dan, I remember being glad when you signed and you've assisted us on our lovely bus ride. All the best at Forest.
Good luck Dan - thanks for the past three seasons. You have done us proud and think you were wise to take the option of playing first team football elsewhere, because it was never going to happen for you with us in the EPL. Good luck with your new club.
Thanks for your contribution in getting us from League 1 to the Prem Dan, and good luck at your new club. Was a very good signing for us when he joined, best left back in that division imo, and was also a good support player in the championship.
Sorry to see Dan Harding leave as well. I thought he was a very good acquisition for Saints and a reliable member of the squad. Good luk at Forest.
Always remember him getting the winner in league one against Leeds. Thanks Dan (who coincidentally is a bit of a Mr Nice)
Always sad on one level when someone who contributes is outgrown by the team. Our progress has been so rapid that some will be left behind. Good luck and thanks, Dan.
Wish him well. A solid player for us who made over 120 appearances. In my mind that means he did pretty well, certainly deserving of recognition. The last Left back to make that many appearances for us was Wayne Bridge, so that puts it in context.
"SFC debut: Millwall (H) 8th August 2009 Harding joined Saints on a free transfer in July 2009 after being released by Championship outfit Ipswich Town. The left sided player, who can play at full back or in midfield, is vastly experienced for his age having played in excess of 150 games at Championship level with Leeds United, Brighton and Ipswich. After falling out of favour in Suffolk during 2008/09 he enjoyed two separate loan spells at Southend United and Reading respectively. At the Madejski Stadium he featured in the Royals' play-off chase as they missed out on a Final appearance to Burnley. He became the first signing following the takeover of the club in 2009, putting pen to paper on a two year deal at St. Mary's. In his first season with Saints, Harding finished runner up to Rickie Lambert in the Player of the Year award after a consistent campaign, where he played in over 40 games at left back, and had followed it up with a successful second campaign, keeping fellow left back Ryan Dickson out of the side for much of the year. Shortly into the 2011/12 season Championship season Harding was rewarded for his consistency with a new three year deal to keep him at the club until 2014." It would be nice if we played Forest in one of the cups next season. We could then show Harding the appreciation he deserves. A much maligned player, and much of the criticism was unwarranted.
This is the first part of our 2nd phase for me....Harding was bought in as first signing of the new era with a job to do, help get us to the prem, now that goal has been achieved, the next phase is under way and sadly some players who have given their all and been great for SFC will have to move on. Good luck Dan and thank you for all you have done.
Bit late to this, having been away but I feel I need to comment on his departure It's a shame Dan has gone, he always gave 110% and was a consistent, reliable and key part of the side the last 3 years and he has more than played his part in our rise up The Leagues It's a shame he can't taste Premiership football, but it happens and this is football - no room for sentimental geniuses here! I still prefer Harding to Fox on the defensive aspects, and I can only hope we sign another LB this summer Good Luck Dan, your contribution will never be forgotten
