I will back MoN's judgement over transfers even with only one player signed up to date..against someone like Fat Sam at West Ham who is signing anyone with a pair of football boots right. Lets see what the next few weeks bring. as for the game tonight..It means nothing...the only thing that matters is the real games in the premier league, not training sessions which tonights game is.

I feel the same about NUFC mate, I like signings to get in early and have time to bed in, but you have to trust the manager I suppose.

Totally agree, I thought we would be using these pre season friendlies to bed in our new signings. Surely MON has seen enough of the squad we have got to know where he needs to strengthen for the kick off. I am worried we will be 6-8 games into the season before we see new players and then we will get the old quote Oh they are not match fit and we will spend the rest of the season playing catch up. Maybe MON is waiting for the big clubs to sign a few players then he may be able to pick up a few loan deals, but are these deals the answer as normally these players return to their old clubs and we are left short again for the next season. Plus I am coming to Sunderland at the end of August and would really like to see a few new faces.

 

Maybe many managers are holding back while the Olympics are on to see if there are any players that catch their eyes.
