With just 22 days until the start of the season, it is a good time to take stock of what we have, and where we need to strengthen. Going by having 2 players for each position, plus a 3rd Goalkeeper, and a utility defender and midfielder = 25 GK: Green, Cerny, Murphy LB: Traore, NEW CB: Hill, Ferdinand, Nelsen, NEW RB: da Silva, Onuoha (U) CDM: Faurlin, Diakite, Derry, Dyer (U) LM: Hoilett RM: Mackie, Wright-Phillips CAM: Taarabt, Park ST: Cisse, Zamora, Helguson, Johnson, NEW That leaves out: Connolly, Young, Smith, Barton (Banned), Ephraim, Campbell, Bothroyd, Hulse Imo we need a LB, CB and another ST. If not then take your pick from the 8 listed above. Its a shame re Smith imo, but we have better than him now. And with Dyer being able to play in defence, and the likes of Da Silva, Taraarabt, Park etc.. we will have plenty of options.
As with all 19 other teams in the division, our aim should be to win every game we play in and win the league, league cup and fa cup!! We won't of course, or get anywhere near to it, but that must be our aim so we do the best we can and finish as high up the league as possible. Otherwise, what's the point in it all?

Agree re dyer, but if he or Hargreaves can prove fitness until the 25 is named either could be good option - and seeing as we have signed so many midfielders this summer, i cant see another tbh.
Best post I seen the last month Judo! For me we still need a new GK. Don't trust Green, and Cerny is probably not up to a full season. We need 2 New young CB's, one at least who is dead quick. We are clearly lacking speed in central defense. We need 2 new CDM's - not sure Ale is fit for the season start? Not sure Dyer will ever be fit, Derry is getting on a bit - which leaves only Diakite from your set up Judo! A new back is possibly needed though as we have Onouha and Young that can play RB, and Traore and da Silva at LB, it would be a bit of a luxury. I reckon Mackie, Dyer, and others could fill in there. A new stiker would also be a luxury - we have a hatfull at the moment.
