I see he reckons he would have done better than Roy at the Euros. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19011778# IMO we over-achieved at the Euros with the squad we had availabl. Not at all convinced we would have done bteer if Fabio was still in cahrge. The way team spirit was when he left my guess is we would have achieved less!
It's a tough call as Capello did show so much potential at times, but I guess we'll know. Roy is definitely more of a long term prospect for me.
Who knows but he wouldn't have had the career he has had if he didn't believe in himself. I'm not at all surprised he thinks this.
Anyone can say they would have done better. We would have been torn to shreds by Italy playing like Capello would have set us up IMO. In reality Rooney's lack of fitness and form cost us, he was woeful so we offered nothing in attack that game. In the end we did well to draw 0-0 and if Ashley Young's penalty had been a few inches lower we'd probably have gone on to win the shootout. Small margins and we were unbeaten Capello can keep dreaming
One things for sure. England wouldn't have played such dire football. Whenever even a chance of a break there were at most 3 players forward for us. Would've been interesting if he had picked Rio of not though
