Only hope is the reality when the true facts come out in time shows it isn't as horriffic
as feared [expected?] I wont even begin to defend anything Ashley does and in this case
it appears he's miles off beam once more and yet again showing no understanding of
or connection with his 'customers', yes, us fans.

The thing is, were it all re-kitted out and the upgrade is actually fantastic, everyone,
(and I mean EVERYONE!), is still going to call it Shearer's even if it's called some other cack.
I agree with ToonSi that Sir Bobby's or The Sir Bobby etc would just about be acceptable and
I'm sure AS himself would go for that especially if they're too **** to name a stand after
SBR - massive disrespect to AS still mind - appalling bit of NUFC business.

Such a stupid decision. It wont be losing a significant amount of money, if any and to rename it is another appalling decision. Fair enough refurbish it, but what possible positive is there to renaming?

Someone must have bought the bar for this to happen! I mean it would cost MORE to refurbish it and even MORE to re-name it to say Cashleys. I won;t believe it until I see it, and if I do see it then I wont be going there before and after every game!

Does anyone think it has anything to do with selling the stadium name rights? Say a company has bought the rights and wants to open a shop at the ground? So they are replacing Shearer's with that. I would be disgusted if that were true.

If that is true and we've sold the naming rights I wouldn't mind so much if it's a decent company and not ****e direct and generates a hefty wedge of money.
It might mean we'd remove the **** logo from the top of the Gallowgate.

We won't remove that sign whilst Ashley is in charge. I hope it will be a good brand too...an alcoholic brand would be ideal as then the beer might be cheaper in SHEARERS!

I have to admit it's busy on matchdays but there's seldom more customers than staff any other time. It's a shame really but if it's true I doubt very much it's because of the feud between Shearer and Llambias and more to do with making money, which it probably isn't.

I have never been their not on a matchday so wouldn't no, maybe they should give season ticket holders something to go there for, a free drink with a meal or a free meal (and then they have to pay for the drinks). Extra incentives to go on non matchdays.

I sometimes park at the ground and walk past and I usually see a few groups of people but nothing major. I would hate a shop to go there, it's St James' Park for **** sake, not a shopping centre!

Totally agree with that principle but they need to appeal to non-football fans aswell if they're to make any money during the week. Students will spend more money on weekdays because the majority won't work as many weekday hours as the average season ticket holder. Also, students always live right near the City Centre while many season ticket holders come from all over the North-East and only travel to Newcastle once a fortnight for the game.

Agree with that also, do something student orientated then, hand out flyers and have deals of 3 for 1 or something. Half price on food on non matchdays, something like that.

Well people have a choice don't go surprised anyone is surprised by anything they do both losers who have no love for this club or any of our legends. In 10 or 20 years Robson and Shearer will be icons and legends Ashley and Del boy will hopefully just be an unpleasant memory one day soon we will be shot of these two scumbags.
