Article in today's Journal " I want to stay " says Demba. Refutes recent speculation of transfer gossip. Lets hope this is good news with the clock ticking on his " clause. http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/n...to-stay-with-newcastle-united-61634-31483310/
Get what sorted? Nothing the club can do secures Ba from a transfer bid coming in, so just ignore the transfer gossip while Ba insists he's staying.
I think we are waiting for the end of the release clause date to come to a close before dealing with him. Roll on 31/07/12. He will sign, it's just a matter of time.
He doesn't need to sign. He has a contract with us already. It's just he has a £7m release clause that expires on Tuesday next week. From Wednesday onwards, his value will double (at least) and no one will sign him for £15m when they could have signed him for £7m.
Even then there's nothing stopping someone trying to sign him, like everyone else on our team and every other team. People get far too panicky about transfer windows, if he wants to stay he'll stay.
I think if someone wanted to take advantage of the £7.5 m clause they would have done so by now - - if they put that money on the table they automatically obtain the right to speak to Ba. Ba says no one has and I believe him. It would be odd to wait until Monday or Tuesday to make your move
Journo: do you want to leave? Ba: No. Journo: do you want to leave? Ba: No. Journo: do you want to leave? Ba: No. Journo: do you want to leave? Ba: No. Journo: do you want to leave? Ba: No. Some fans: I'm sick of hearing from Ba, just commit already!! Ba: ???
Nothing is ever written in stone, all it takes is a Man Utd, an Arsenal... a Chelsea to swoop for him and the lure of the champions league could prove too much for him not to leave. However I'm quietly confident that it wont happen and he will stay. He seems happy enough to stay and happy enough to keep coming out and saying he will stay, hes said it what 3-4 times now?
