Found this on ESPN's website. What do you think of his "weakness" assessment? Sounds about right to me. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/manager/_/id/207/nigel-adkins?cc=5739
Quotes: "It's a very positive future and we are very, very ambitious. We are not thinking of just getting enough points to stay up. We've got to drive on, strive to be the best, and Europe is obviously the goal" - Nigel Adkins, July 2012. Love that bit. edit: and this bit, trivia: As well as a BSc in physiotherapy, Adkins has a business studies degree.
I don't think it is fair. Sometimes you have to accept that you can't always impose your style onto good teams, but if a game is not going our way Adkins usually changes the formation or personnel. I think he is sometimes a victim of his own positivety. The only area where I might be critical is that home or away we always attacked sides. The team is not set up to defend as a whole and as a consequence lost some games we could have drawn.
They clearly didn't do there research...how "a very hard working group" didn't make it into quotes nor "on the bus" I have no idea
While we're on the subject, check this one out for a bit of comedy
I sincerely hope not! I really hope the Don will stay loyal and I think he will unless we are in the bottom three in January and the fans are in revolt.
I think the assesment was wrong, we had two basic team shapes last year, thats a plan A and a plan B, so in a literal sense it is inaccurate, now apparantly he is trying to set up a 3rd formation, (see todays OS) so thats a plan C. Watching Saints could soon become a bewildering mid match whirl of everchanging formations. Lets hope the players know what they are doing.
