o/t Spiritualized at Freedom

I am genuinley stunned, someone at Hull CC actually knows music rather than just booking an X-Factor runner-up. This is an amazing opportunity to see one of the best bands of the last 20 years for free.

Yeah free I think, I was impressed also. Spiritualized and Martha Reeves the big names, then some up and comers and Hull bands.

 

No it's about a tenner I think I read.

 

I also have no idea who spiritualized are.

...My Band Mammal Hum was offered the support for this - I'm in ruddy Gran Canaria with the mrs and kids :-( Richard Hawley was penned in first but had to cancel last minute due to the BBC offering something - It is free, wasn't Hull City Council who booked it, was people involved in Fruit who actually do for a living that's arranged this years main stage..

 

Ah right, and did the council commission Fruit to book it?

 

I suppose loosely - I believe the council commissioned the Edinburgh festival promoters to run the Freedom festival a couple of year back, from what I know they now are working with local promoters. Loads better than the crap pop acts we had before..

 

Now he is brilliant, my daughter loves him.

Most kids presenters just try and use it as a stepping stone to fame and fortune but he's definitely in it for the love of it. FACT

Getting Spiritualized and Martha Reeves is a huge coup! Hull CC actually have something relating to a brain cell! Richard Hawley would have been really good - his new release is impressive.
