With Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland moaning about the idea of team GB why do people think. I think the reason they are so against it is because they wont have many players in the squad. It will be mainly England players. If we selected a squad of 23 then Northern Ireland wouldnt have anyone. Scotland will probaly have Darren Fletcher, Charlie Adam and Craig Gordon and Wales would only have Gareth Bale. The rest would be England I would like to see a Great Britain football team but it doesnt look like its going to happen. I think it would be a very good team as the only position England really lack is a quality left winger and that is the only position Wales have ever had good players in with Ryan Giggs and now Bale. Northern Ireland dont really have any good players, most of them are average championship players and Scotland have a few players now that are half decent Do you think its a good idea and would it work
nah, it would be seen as favoritism if there were no NI players, and the team would be weaker if we had to take a caertain ammount from each side. Its a shame that the phrase "for club and country" has been shortened to "for club" now tho, players that play for England really don't care about the country because of their giant club paychecks.
Q. British / Irish rugby works, why not football. A. Because football has it´s heads up it´s a***. Give the Jocks their independence FFS I´m sick of them SNP w****** moaning all the time. Did you know it´s going to be illegal to sing the British national anthem in Jockland soon even as alot of jocks consider them selves to be British ? it´s racist you know. B*LL*CKS to those stinking sweaty socks. Oh & the next time your sh*ty JockFA wants to play a national game in England again, do in the mirror. Oh & keep out of our pubs aswell, just because your tastes like p*ss water.
Are we on about Team GB for the Olympics or normal internationals? If it's the former I don't care if it's the latter no way.
Just for the olympics. England doesnt enter the Olympics, Great Britain does so thats the thinking behind the idea
Anyone watching the GB v Senegal game? I am already sick of the 'Team GB' reference. What's wrong with Great Britain? Do we really have to turn the whole collection of sportsmen and women into a 'brand'? Sickens me really. Even worse is the constant drum/echo whenever there is a replay on the BBC coverage; pointless and annoying. Anyway, looking forward to the disappointing opening ceremony which will probably be a mixture of ostentatious and yet underwhelming choreography and some song by someone like the Sugababes.
See the refereeing is still as crap as ever, give me strength! As for the opening ceremony, I'll bet that there'll be nothing British about it. It'll be all about diversity, equality, multiculturalism and how evil the empire was!
It has been hyped up so much this ceremony that I fear it'll fail to live up to the hype or they'll be a major cock-up. We've already had one and the games haven't even started yet! And that probably will be the basis behind the message. I remember the bid team using that as it's major selling point for London.
