Just tweeted this ....... 'Just arrived at the Olympics, got all me kit, still think Stella was a bit Lucy in the Sky when she knocked this one up' ......... Well it made me laugh anyway
I heard that the song wasn't actually about LSD but about Lennon's son making a weird picture, oh well, still quite funny
He's a normal person, a bit like Andy Murray, not a media-trained personality. I like people just speaking as anybody else would, rather than giving the same old answers/soundbites that we (and the media) expect.
I'm a big wiggins fan, I find it hard to believe that he achieves a feat no other Brit has ever done before (over 99 tours) and some people only comment that they think he's boring, fact is he's honest and probably sounds boring because he did about 10 interviews every day since he got the yellow jersey so was bored of the same questions!
football - play it, watch it golf - play it, watch it badminton - play it, can you watch it even? pool - play it, watched clips on youtube darts - played it, watched a bit running - play it -wouldn't watch it! tennis - used to play it, don't watch it much rugby - never played it, watch sometimes cricket - played it at school, don't watch it cycling - neither swimming - do it, don't watch it
I don't think wiggins is boring. He is very dry and is clearly not trying to be big headed. Can't imagine what you lot thought of N Pearson when he would suck very single bit of life out of everyone.
Lennons version was different. He claimed he returned home one day to find his little girl painting a picture. When John asked what it was,The child replied,it's Lucy (a schoolfriend) in the sky with diamonds. Someone should ask Ringo for the truth, because Macca is notoriously dodgy when recalling the story of the Beatles full stop. As for for Bradley Wiggins, he just won the tour de france, X. Tell me, are you more interesting than that ?
What do people who think he's boring actually want from him? 'Hilarious' shouting, jumping around, playing drunken japes or wearing comedy breasts like those intellectual heavyweights Gascoigne, Akabusi, Wright or ANDREW Flintoff? There would be nothing more soul destroying for me than having to spend any time in the company of such vapid twerps.
That's what I thought, Lennon mentioned the meaning of the song close to it's release, whilst Paul said otherwise later
I didn't realise that sportstars had to have fascinating personalties, or the comic timing of Tommy Cooper. I thought they might have had enough on their plates with being good at sport. To redress the balance, all stand-up comedians must complete their FIFA badges and be 'match fit' for any sport selection that may occur. It's only fair.
Wasnt it that convenient that he came up with a story about Julian drawing 'Lucy in the sky with diamonds' around the time that the song got banned and royalties were at risk? Or did Jules also speak with a slow drawl, draw Plasticine porters with looking glass ties and rocking horse people eating marshmallow pies whilst having his head in the clouds? Or could it possibly be about drugs do you think.....?
Yes, Macca is a a god of course, but if youv'e seen the Beatles anthology dvd's or the the like, you'll see Ringo constantly putting him right on events and Paul just going, Ah...oh right. Sir Paul isnt even sure who wrote which song ffs. Please, under no cicumstanses get get wrong on this though. Paul Mcartney is a ****ing God, for his services to music, and therefore mankind !
