Apparently he's chosen the tractor boys over Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest. If it's true, its great mews that we can sign players over our rivals, been getting used to the likes of Leeds and Palace nicking them from under our noses.

Big question for me is: is he a replacement for Cresswell or Delaney?

Clearly for Cresswell, we're obviously offering him better terms than Borough or Forest.

he's a better centre back than he is left back

have you noticed your other 'friend', david norris, is off to leeds?

they appear to be buying the entire pompey team. having said that, if they end up doing well for leeds then they will all end up at carrow road anyway <laugh>

Why not cut out the middle man and just buy out Pompey as your feeder club!

Thought Norris money chaser was off to Wednesday.

Friend would be a very good addition to the squad and hopefully not a replacement as Cresswell was superb last night against all be it Cambridge.

Coincidentally it was Chambers who looked more uncomfortable than Delaney last night and made the only two slip ups that better strikers would have punished.

bleakers, its impossible to not feel sorry for all those pompey fans. they've had to go through every fans nightmare over the past few seasons. i'm not sure they've got anything left worth taking! i suppose we could nick their fa cup... <whistle>

If the remaing players at Pompey had an morales, any decency and any dignity they would offer to rip their own contracts up and walk away therefore helping pompey get back on their feet. I could understand if they were everyday people off the street on 25k a year but at £25k a week then its hardly going to make a great deal of different and they all have a very good chance of getting a new job/ club in the next week.
I know the players had every right to sign the contracts that the clubs offered and obviously assumed the club could afford it which makes both the club and the FA (for agreeing the business plan) tossers for offering deals in the first place but now its obvious what is happening then I wish they would use their brains.
I though Norris was a useless ****er when he was here, then I thought he was a plain useless money grabbing tosser when he left us, now he has gone down even further in my estimation.

I wouldn't get too excited by this boys! George Friend is being lined up as the replacement for Cressy and not an addition!

I thought he was more a centre back than a left back?

He won supporters player of the season at Doncaster last season, although they weren't great that bodes well!

£250,000 would be a great deal.

However, EADT state as Jonny has just mentioned - http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich...dent_on_any_sale_of_aaron_cresswell_1_1460580

I'd be very pleased if Cresswell went, we signed Friend and had money to spend on other players!
