Believe me pal, Bruce had no intentions of jumping anywhere. Totally agree with you about his level though mate, you will probably disagree but I think Sunderland is actually above his level and he should stick to the Wigan, Hull, Birmingham jobs as that is his level.
Probably true that actually He was taking you downwards towards his level though. O'Neill is the perfect manager level-wise really, he's brilliant at taking mid-table/underperforming teams and dragging them up by the scruff of the neck. He tends to be counter-attacking/direct, so I'm surprised Sunderland haven't been linked with many pacier strikers than Fernando as yet. Maybe Frazier will be given a major role, or Sess will simply be in the hole a lot next year? Though their may also be more loan deals of course
If Campbell is a first team player for us next season, we are f**ked mate! You are right about O'Neil playing counter attacking football with pace. It hasn't really been mentioned on here, if at all, but looking at O'Neils record, he seems to go for young, british, pacey attacking wingers and strikers (Downing, Young etc..) and that is why I can see us shopping in the championship for the likes of Matt Phillips at Blackpool (who I really like the look of)
Yeah Philips looks ripe, and young Ince isn't too shabby either (though I think another season in the championship might be good for him). Obviously Ince is left footed and you have Mclean, who just gets better and better, but he can play attacking midfield in a style similar to Sess, who could play wing. Some championship clubs have started holding Premier league clubs to ransom over their players, probably not surprising considering they are usually poached, so it remains to be seen how many deals can be done for the more exceptional talent. I saw some of you chaps were keen on Gabby, and I'm sure O'Neill would have looked at this (unless he was one of the idiots texting congrats at each other for getting him sacked). Was a bit surprised you didn't bid for Mobido Maiga, but I guess if OUR team says he's an injury catastrophe, that says something! Players like Macheda could be decent signings!
You don't rate Macheda I take it? I think he's a decent player, but maybe you've had enough of Man Utd rejects by now!
I think he's ****ing awful mate, I really do. Poor touch, woeful finisher. A debut winner v Villa does not a footballer make, what's happened last 2 years?
I think that's a bit harsh on the lad personally, but yeah he's not done too much I suppose, though he's only 20! He was considered an exciting prospect by many Man Utd fans, and I think there are some who hoped he'd be more involved this season, but whether this happens I'm not sure. Ordinarily I'd be reserved about signing anyone Sir Alex even considers letting go, and the record of serious successes through buying from Man Utd isn't brilliant (we had Butt and Smith ), but Sir Alex seemed to see talent in him, and I think he's got something about him worth more than the scrap heap. At youth level, it's true, he was outscored by one of our youngsters (who I think has since been released), but he was still a very good player. Martin has a decent record with young players, so I wouldn't discount a Macheda type, but fair enough if you disagree!
Fair enough Mushy... I'll be back to gloat if you sign him and he turns out to be quality... So I guess that means I probably won't be back! Good luck for next season
It's fine, we won't need it Mwahahahahahahahaha And I appreciate this comment will be re-posted as a "let's have a laugh" thread when you sign Macheda and finish above us...
