Personally think it would be a bad move. Can't see how this will help dressing room harmony, having the manager's son sat in the corner.
Bruce is not up to Championship standard, I will give his dad the benefit of the doubt as a manager seeing as I have no choice but if the Allams blocked this move then that gives them some redeeming points for me after the Barmby sacking debacle.
It's not a guaranteed disaster - worked for Bristol City in 2008 - they were 90 minutes away from the Premier League with Johnson and Johnson. Still - there were issues with Bruce picking Junior at Brum. Having said that - I can't see how Bruce could overtake Hobbs, Chester and Faye - so he most likely would be back up.
FFS---even if jnr has signed snr has yet to pick his 1st side for our opening fixture-jnr mght not even be in the squad yet alone starting 11
does anyone know if he has played right bck? if yes, then manager's son aside, he may well be good utility cover for rose-noir
it's all about rugby anyway. and even when yorkshire cc achieve something great, there's not enough lincoln in it to make the headline
Can't think there will have been a big audience for the announcement of Alex Bruce! I hope its someone else we are signing
Someone on here claimed that the bosses had put a block on this signing, what a load of bolloxs that was. Good squad player who will be cheapish backup for cup games and injuries Imo
LizzieRose_Hull In sport: Hull City are close to concluding a deal that will see Alex Bruce staying at the club after a period on trial. #hcafc
One is seriously injured, one is 19, one has played about 10 games at this level and one is McShane. I don't have much of an opinion on it either way. He's not the best player in the world but I don't really want to see much of him apart from emergencies. Steve Bruce has signed him because he thinks he's good enough. He didn't sign him for Wigan and Sunderland because he knew he wasn't good enough.
While Hobbs is out, Chester and Faye will obviously start and I've no real issue with Bradley or Cooper as cover, I just don't see that Bruce adds anything. I'm also certainly that we wouldn't be signing him if his dad wasn't our manager, if indeed we are actually signing him at all.
Maybe the signing of his son was one of the conditions SB put to the Allams for him coming in as manager?
