I agree that overall Sky have a reputation for being more accurate and in the past don't normally post things without substance, but this season seems to be different, they seem to be getting dragged into the rumour mill and posting bollocks more frequently. Having said that though I'd still trust them over any newspaper sources, especially that bell end Lee Ryder.

Naive in the extreme Tash to be honest. They just make **** up on a regular basis. Indeed you only have to look at their coverage of us over the last two years in particular. To be fair there isn't many media outlets at all now who pprint much that could enter the realms of reality. Maybe clubs have just become better at transfers but I suspect its just journalism is at an all time low and laziest.

It's mainly because SSN are far more often right than other sources, that I trust them.

I don't just take everything they say as the truth, but if they report something, I quite often trust that there's truth behind it.

Sometimes they post bollocks, but they're still far more reliable than most other sources, and If they report something, I tend to take notice.

I trust the sources that have generally been right in the past, until they've proven to be unreliable.

Most of the time I know which reports to take seriously, and which ones to just be like "hmm, sounds interesting, but meh".

I can honeslty say in all my watching of it, I find there is very little truth in their transfer stories. They are normally right about the really big ones, but then evryone is because there are usually far too many people involved to keep their gob shut. I loved it the last two summer when they linked us with every player and their granny, and then only piggybacked on the end of our actual signings (Cabaye, Tiotes etc). It just shows how much they piss in the wind.

As I say though its unfair to single them out because journalism generally is incredibly poor and inaccurate. Even the likes of the Guardian print bollocks transfer stories now. The BBC used to be decent but even they are in on it. The problem you have is that our dumbed down nation believe the SSN stuff. Just like they believe the people they interview are representative of an area. No they've just managed to round up a load of raggas from the local job centre! Trash journalism.

If you don't want to pay attention to SSN, that's your choice, but I personally choose to take notice of them. I don't take any source as the gospel truth other than NUFC.co.uk, but SSN are generally worth viewing.

I think we should end it there, because we've consumed the comments section with this pointless debate. I'll let you have your last word, then we can get back on track.

Its always relevant to assess the source of any rumour. That's all it is. I wouldn't worry no one seems particularly interested in the thread anyway. Its just another SSN story with no factual basis is probably the reason these threads die out so quickly.

Think its all likely to be pure bullshit from them again anyhow as Newcastle have supposedly said Ba is going nowhere and there has been no contact with Kazan. Again though like all of todays lazy journalism, I don't think there were actual quotes. I want one of these jobs at these papers or SSN. Its a piece of piss if you have an imagination.

I'll do what I always tend to do and get excited at every rumour and deal with the inevitable disappointment of it being horse plop ;)

Sky sports is the most reliable source going to be honest. I read more into what they say than any other site

I think Tash has been hacked by Kofi Annan!

As for the article, I'd have more time for SSN than Talksport but as you both say, nufc.co.uk is gospel, the rest is not, but think how ****ing boring the summer would be if we spent our whole time refreshing that homepage!

Thought I'd chip in because as an atheist I ****ing hate this term because the factual truth is that 'the gospel(s)' is/are actually all a load of bullshit!

So when people say "that's the gospel truth", I immediately reply "hmmm, so it's a load of bollocks then!?"
