The words 'grapes' and 'sour' spring to mind here. Your club might be the perverbial 'sleeping' giant', but that's just what you are at the moment 'sleeping' ! Past glories count for nothing my friend, it's all about the here and now I'm afraid. The fact is Leeds at this present moment in time cannot offer PL football or PL wages and let's be honest unless this phantom takeover ever happens they won't be able to for few years yet. As for your comment about us heading south, I wouldn't be so sure most of us City fans are more than happy with our new manager and are confident of a mid table finish this season
You'll see what I mean once their post-Christmas slump and inability to control the game starts. Certainly not sour grapes, I wish them all well, but as a unit they are not good enough together
Well with 2 of those 3 we finished 12 in the Premier League last season and as numerous Leeds fans, albeit before Snoddy wanting to leave, said he was the best of them all I'd imagine we will be aiming for similar this season. How that midfield struggled in league 1 is beyond me - probably poor management from your club. That or you have made it up entirely and are sat behind your screen gutted.
Irdan - as stated above, each of them are good enough with the right players around them, but as a unit togetehr they have consistently struggled in both League 1 and Championship. Read my other comments - I am not gutted about losing Snoddy. I was gutted about losing Johnson - that was criminal. But they have proven themselves over the years to be unable to work well together for a full season because they don't cover each other well enough. You will see after Christmas.
Let's see how it goes then, Johnson isn't a regular starter and Snoddy will be rotated with Pilks/Bennett so if what you say is true it hopefully won't affect us too much as their chances of all 3 playing together may be limited.
Makes it more of a joke that he wants Premiership football and he wishes to enhance his chances of playing for Scotland and he might not get a start. Shame that he feels fighting for a place or being rotated and sitting on the Norwich bench is better than waiting a few more weeks to see the outcome of the takeover and who else Warnock might bring in before making the decision.
At least now we might get someone in who can whip in a decent corner. Snodgrass continually hit the first defender or just floated the ball into the middle, easily dealt with. He's great at cutting inside his man, finding a bit of space and whipping in a dangerous cross, but great corner taker he ain't.
No it will not!! We have turned down £650,000 for pelts, and Maynard cost West Ham over £1.5 million
thats not possible even if Bates gives warnock the full 1.5m and if you take into account the extra wages youll have to pay cos you have brought in more players than you have sold im guessing a rather large chunk of that will be put aside for their wages. so its probably all gone already
Howson played about a half dozen games with you at back end of season when you were piss poor. Hardly had much of an impact. Expect more of the same this season but from the start
Same old. Now he's going he was never good enough. Football fans are a funny bunch. Howson will play for England one day imo and his game has come on tremendously since his league one days. Bradders shooting is still ****e, but can't win them all. Very much doubt he'll do much bench warming but let's coninue this chat in a couple of months once our seasons have begun to take shape...
He was nearly sold last season and only stayed after Bates and Grayson lied to him about the quality of players they would bring in and how they were going to push hard for the Premiership. Snoddy has no respect or time for Bates or Harvey, I think his opinion of Warnock isn't perhaps as good as it should be, so he's doing the right thing and moving on, perhaps to a club that will struggle next season & before he knows it he will be back in the Championship, however he deserves the chance and I wish him all the best.
I love the idea of us being "piss poor" when we got an unlucky draw at the Emirates (ref was criminal) and a win at White Hart Lane. Both of those resultswere done, for the most part, by a certain Jonny Howson's stellar performances. On the plus side, good luck to Leeds . I hate Colin, but I don't think he'll waste that £3m. You've been very unfortunate recently and I think most sensible Norwich fans would feel the utmost sympathy. We've been in similar positions.
If these T/O talks fail to materialise into something solid he won't have a chance to spend it, not a chance Bates would allow it to be used despite the £1M he is going to be getting back from the recent police court case.
Well it seems Warnock will get just £750K of the Snodgrass money for new players http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...-Broken-Down?p=3193391&viewfull=1#post3193391
If you went the games m8,you would know yourself.Norwich were one of the clubs that overran our midfield.Funny you got rid of a better midfield.
