I hope not. Even if we go down next season with less points than Derby Adkins should keep his job.

On a side note and in relation to the thread - can we not try and single any player out early doors please? The abuse is often unwarranted. Puncheon will be much more determined this season now we're in the Premier League.

 

As far as i'm concerned without Adkins we wouldn't even be in the premier league, so he should be allowed to totally **** it up. Bit like if you create an absolutely beautiful painting, it's your right to use it as toilet paper should you so desire.

 

If we are doing poorly by Jan Adkins will be gone imho.

 

So if he loses the dressing room at any point, you'd still want him as manager for the sake of it?

 

All of the defence once we get thumped by a side, which will happen. More specifically Fox, Fonte and I really think people will lay into Davis if we get thumped.

Or players like Morgan whose contribution isn't measured in goals and assists.

 

No one in my stand is saying a word against Morgan If I have my way. But yes you're right, Lambert will get some stick as well for not scoring 30ish goals again as well.

 

If Rodriguez doesn't get a hat trick on debut he's a waste of money, too.

 

I think we will bitch about people that bitch about players that bitch about refs that bitch they are only human.

 

We will be getting bigger attendances which means more we will get our share of 'Premier League' Saints fans. These will be the first to turn on the team when the results go against us. Last season I expected promotion. This season I expect a struggle as we do have a largely inexperienced team but I have faith and belief in the vision for the future and I feel we will not be your normal promoted team in that we will not have a second season dip - we will keep getting stronger. So yes I think we will stay up but not without a few scary moments perhaps. However, getting on the back of any player is something I will not do. If Adkins believes in them then so do I.

 

Saints teams have always been made up of two types of players. Those who can do no wrong whatsoever and those who are dammed for the slightest mistake.

In the latter category we have Fox, Guly, Kelvin, Jason, Hammond and Steeeeeeeeeeeve.

In the former we have Rickie, Adam, Morgan (in this household anyway), Fonte and Jos.

You can decide about the rest.

 

No one should be a boo boy.... we are in the premiership and its going to be a struggle. Just like last season and the season before, the influence of the crowd will make a huge contribution.

I hope everyone else gets behind the whole team,,, there is nothing worse than being 2-0 down and the players are trying to mount a comeback, only for them to be booed if a pass goes astray..

So when we are down and struggling, I will be cheering EACH AND EVERY PLAYER ON.... Only Adkins has the right to criticize the players this time round...

unless someone is consistently being ****e match after match, i dont tend to shout abuse at them from the stands. the blokes around me though...one mistake and theyre f-ing and blinding like theyve just lost us the world cup or something. jeez fellas, calm down!

 

I'm thinking Puncheon might surprise us this season.
