up front and no-one else, leaving you with a strikeforce of Heskey, Ji, Campbell & Wickham. Arguably the worst in the league, even after the improvement of Heskey, what would the reactions be? Would you still back MoN, would you still trust that he is taking the club forward? How would you feel about the coming season?
You have to wonder what was running through his head when he wrote this thread... Did he think he was clever? Did he think it would piss us off? Did he think anything at all? Does he have the ability to put a single thought together?
In fairness though, a fair question is: what would you think of O'Neill if that was your strikeforce next season. It's not ENTIRELY unrealistic.
Brain dead don't think. Normally I'd just ignore them but from time to time you've got to laugh at their lack of intelligence at wumming
O'Neill keeps stressing that we need two strikers, not one donkey. It's as likely for you to have that as your strikeforce as it is for us. It ain't happening.
Had time for you....... prior to this post, your true colours are the same as tashes. now just **** off,,,,,,,,,,,,enough is enough. you are now blocked ******.
If he bought Heskey, and he got 15 assists and the other 4 (you missed Ryan Noble) got 10-15 goals apiece, as well as goals from Midfield, I think we would be quite happy. If on the other hand, Heskey and the others done nothingthen we would go down, or MON would get sacked and someone else could buy someone in January and save us. Lets be honest, its all hypothetical and it wont happen, but even if it did, it "could" work, we are not managers so what the **** do we know, we can get pissed off and moan a lot, but thats about it.
If Ashley sold Cisse & Ba, leaving you with the Ameobis upfront would you still think you had a chance of the title and say your not bothered about Sunderland because United & City are your main rivals now.
Sunderland have had two of Heskey's most ardent fans, in O'Neill and Bruce, and neither has brought him to the club when the opportunity has been there. It's even been rumoured on more than one occasion a piece, but no. Had you mackem lads worried alright (and us nervously giggling in anticipation), but I think the time has gone. To be honest, now he's on a free, if Sunderland snapped him up and used him as a bench-warmer, it probably wouldn't be so bad if they also sign the two quality forwards they really need. Not paying money for him spoils the fun really. Considering you have been interested in a couple of our attacking targets, it's surprising you didn't offer for Maiga (though if we say someone has a bad knee, that's saying something... Just ask QPR's fans abotu Dyer... Dyer who?).... But you need one of that mould, I think. Overall, I'm growing concerned by Sunderland's lack of movement at the moment. They can't be patient for too much longer or they'll have to start the season with a squad that hasn't progressed. If they are content with O'Shea or Brown at centre back (for now), they need a better CM than Gardner et al, and 2 good pacey strikers and that would have them comfortably top half perhaps. With regards Heskey, it would be ultimately amusing if he joins up with Owen to reform the "dream team" and they get whichever club they sign for relegated...
I think if we were to lose Ba and Cisse we would just have to deal with the fact that finishing 2nd in the league and winning both domestic cups might be our limit for next season. There would always be the season after though, once we successfully negotiate deals for Rooney and Messi.
To be fair, when we signed Titus Bramble we were all bemused after the crap form he'd shown for the mags, but he turned out OK (off-field shenanigans aside). But everyone knew he had talent; it was just getting it out of him that was hard. Heskey, on the other hand, has seemed limited his whole career and seems to have got picked solely for being "awkward to handle" in the box. He certainly hasn't scored anything like enough to be regarded as a top hit-man and I just can't see what there is to be achieved by signing him now TBH.
