I love all types of competitive sport and will watch the Olympics as I have done every time I have been old enough to understand it. Will I watch more because it is in London, NO, does it have a special feel because it is in my country ,NO. For all intense and purpose it may as well be in another country, this is not a games for the people or a games for the whole of uk, this is purely a games for LONDON . When the torch relay route was first publicised and we were told about the " ordinary heros " who would relay it around the country I thought what an excellent idea. But what we saw was mainly a list of A to Z celebrities and an even longer list of world wide corporate clients grabbing centre stage it sort of lost it's sparkle. I will cheer on our cyclist's all our track and field boys and girls, watch a couple of events I have never followed out of curiosity , switch the footie and basketball and tenis off because they shouldn't really be in the Olympics and cheer every medal winner from team GB but get excited because it is "our Olympics" afraid not.
