I have just seen that City are 8-1 to be relegated on Sky Bet. What does that say to all the optimists on here? bearing in mind the signings SB has made. Liecester are 40-1.
With what bookie are we 10/1? I still make it mostly 33's http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/winner
Where are we 10/1? I still make it 33's with most bookies: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/winner
Adam Scott was 1/100 to win the Open with 4 holes left .... the 'odds' are purely someone's (or some firm's) opinion and bookmakers don't draw up their books individually on the 'best' or 'worst' predominantly, but more so to 'hedge' their risk in terms of bets taken at what odds etc so that they still come out with a profit overall ... not always possible of course, but that is the general aim ...
Iv'e got £10 at 28,s to win it. If the Aluku signing happens im having another £20. The 10-1 is for promotion i think.
At the moment we don't have enough players of quality to win the league, I am rooting for us to make the play-offs. Nice to see optimism as usual but hope fans brace themselves for what could be another consolidation season with a new manager. I was annoyed that we have to start from scratch again this season but anything can happen, just hope people don't get upset when we aren't immediately front-runners, if at all. I'm going for a highly optimistic last play-off spot.
5/2 nice odds, sooner that than backing us to win the league and contributing to the bookies benevolent fund!
Call me greedy but wouldnt mind one more winger (loanee), another Attacking central midfielder (george boyd) to rotate and spell with koren, and a utility defender to cover across the back 4 (Ramage) Then id be confident we had the squad depth to mount a serious tilt at the championship title, as it stands i think were still play-off material
I think we're good enough to finish in the top 6 this season. I don't think there's anyone in the league we should fear and we have as good a chance as any of the other promotion contenders of finishing in the top 6. It will however be a tough and close season with around 12-15 teams who realistically have a chance of finishing in the top 6 and it's important we get off to a good start. But I see no reason why we can't finish in the top 6 this season having improved the squad from last season and also looking like we'll add a couple more players as well.
Who cares anyway. Its a waste of money betting on Hull City to be relegated. End of. Ive got my bets on already for promotion. 44/1 to win the league 38/1 to finish top 2 33/1 to finish top 2 (seperate bet made today before our odds tumble) I would rather it be this way with the bookies (ie.being outsiders to go up)
We've not played a game yet... and in our friendlies so far under Bruce we've not been world beating have we. Many on here gave Leicester fans stick last season for thinking they'd win it and look what happened. Bruce got sacked from his last job and although he's a big name manager who's to say it'll work here for him? I'm not being pessimistic and we have made what look like really good signings... but again, until we see how they all play together and under what system I don't think anyone should be getting carried away. You might find that a few quick months down the line you look a bit foolish. I'm optimistic for the season ahead but I'm keeping my feet firmly on the ground. There's a difference between being excited and being over-optimistc.
