What's going on? All other teams have began their pre season games, and we haven't even started yet, nor have we even flown off for our games. I know we had that tournament at Southampton, but you can't really call that a pre season game, barely any of the main players featured, so what the hell is going on? By the time we play City it will either be their third or 4th game of their pre season, and only our second. The planning has really really been sh!t regarding this. And we only have 5 pre season games arranged as of now, which is far too little, maybe we might book one later, but as of now, there's nothing, we go a 10 day stretch with no game. You usually need at least 6-7 games minimum.
The Euro's have meant that we could not give most of our players a run out in that game at Southampton. Also there are a few injuries (shock horror).
other teams have had players in the euros yet they have begun their trips and pre season tours, we are way behind them in terms of preparations.
Comparing it to last season, we played our first game of the Asia tour on July the 13th. I can only think that this time because of the Euro's, Wenger wanted to wait longer and leave with those players also in the squad. The ones that went to the Euro's only started training this week.
None of the big clubs have played their strongest player and we've played our fringe squad in a couple of games and I think our fringe squad is playing again today.

FFS we haven't even started the season and you are already moaning about pre season fixtures. Wenger is trying to give those players that we at the euros a rest and give players like diaby more time to train rather than throwing them into matches before they are ready, we were very unlucky with injuries last season so maybe our players do need an extra rest after the euros especially we don't have to copy other teams calendars.
I don't get how we are going to go 12 days without another pre-season game? We obviously need more games before the season starts as seen by the performances so far, this doesn't make any sense.
If our players are that fragile, then guess what? They shouldn't even be in the team, you're so worried about giving a player 45 minutes in a pre season game, and we're expected to rely on the same players for the course of over 50 games? Something is very very very wrong with that. And that's meant to be your response? Arsenal players are so fragile, and always at risk, so we shouldn't arrange a pre season which is simply about getting their fitness levels up, and match awareness levels up, nice response. Thumbs up.
