Oscar has had his Chelsea medical, given a work permit agreed personal terms and Chelsea agree deal with Internacional all that is left is his signature. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...agree-deal-to-sign-oscar-claims-internacional
Do you think he'll make any difference to your squad? Do you think he'll be guaranteed a place immediately in the starting XI?
No, but nobody is with exception to probably Cole and Hazard. Oscar is only 20 and will be rotated I imagine. I personally don't think we need him with Piazon more than capable of being played now and again but I'd rather this deal than fork out £38m for Hulk.
Can't help but think Lucas Moura would possibly have been a better option but then again we can't have all of the most talented young midfielders in the world can we??
Think he has great potential. He shone against team GB in that Olympic warm up match. I imagine that Oscar will be a starter since he cost us 25m. We need that brazilian playmaker who can link up the play between defense and attack.
Nah according to stuff from Brazil he's like a Walcott. Lots of pointless runs with no end product. I like Oscar more.
He reckons he wont be doing anything for us until the Olympics are over , so he's going to miss a couple of early fixtures!
Until his signature is on the contract, its still a rumour. If its true , its bye bye Josh and Piazon. They would be mad to stay with us with so many in front. Personally I'd keep the cash in the bank and play Josh and/ Piazon, but Oscar does look the business.
How dare you suggest such a thing. :O Josh and Piazon both have great futures. Piazon is a player that we don't have with his attributes in any senior player and is definitely worth keeping and McEachran is being groomed into the deep lying playmaker we lack. If anything it's bye bye Kakuta but the club would be mad to let Josh and Lucas go.
This, for me, is where RDM (the players' mate-manager) could easily be found out. Your young rising stars may not have the same power as JT or Lampard to force any issues with the Russian, but they'll show their dissent by leaving the club. Are there any plans to put them out on loan?
Hate to see it happen, but how would youreact as21 year old josh watches20 year old oscar get a gong while he cant get a game !!!!cannot see the point of buying all these kids, training them up, not playing them, then they get the hump and move on. Or isit that you have to buy 10 to get 1 good one ??? Think we need to rationalise our methods to keep the kids involved. Hope Robby does this. Meantime I continue to be bemused and confused.
Yeah but it's clear Josh isn't ready and he will know that. Luckily he doesn't have an ego like Lukaku so he won't complain and he will improve rather than sulking. Piazon is deinitely nowhere near leaving I reckon he's probably a half season loan from being a top young player. Josh needs to improve on awareness and strength and he knows that he won't start many games next season if he isn't loaned, but the likelihood of Lamps phasing out and the preference of deep lying playmaking over the no none sense Mikel means if he improves and realises his potential he will definitely have a big role to play.
I've just read in the Times that we will be announcing his arrival in an official statement on Friday. £20m well spent I reckon!
I will be a little jealous as we were also rumoured to be in for him, however, i really dont think you need him and for me you should be buying a decent striker instead of another playmaking midfielder. That said he is quality and you will have one hell of a midfield next season.
TBF--I think we'd given up on Modric a while back, due to the price! I'll be curious to see if Real Madrid cough up the £40m.
They wont and Spurs have to sell now Modric is refusing to train. It'll be around 30 increasing to 35 with add ons.
I think we'd happily sell Modric to Madrid for £30 million. I suspect that they've offered way below that, or are proposing all kinds of make-weight clauses that Levy isn't interested in. If you know anything about Levy it's that he will not be intimidated or bullied by any one. If he doesn't get his minimum asking price for Modric, then the player will not be sold this season, and Modric will do what he's told to do.
