Newcastle fan in peace here, Chelsea seem to really be going for it this year and i'm personally excited to see hazard next season as a neutral to chelsea. Was just wondering with all these players (plus oscar if that happens) where do you fit them all in and what is your preferred starting 11 for the community shield? Ps. Hate Man City so i will be wanting Chelsea to win that.
With all the cups and world club comp we'll be playing the best part of 60 games next season. That means plenty of game time for everyone. My personal first choice 11 as we sit today would be: Cech Ivan Cahill Luiz Cole Ramires Mikel Marin Hazard Mata Torres A lot will not agree at leaving JT and Lamps out and I understand why.
Basically this, except I would include JT instead of Cahill or Luiz, keep them all on their toes. If we sign Oscar where will he fit in? ?
That is exactly the team I'd pick. Cahill and Luiz were brilliant against Munich and should be tried together this season in my opinion. If Oscar came in I think he'd probably replace Marin, and switch with Hazard to CAM, although really that is just the formation and there'll be a lot of movement and rotation, like Brazil had v team GB.
What I would play- ----------------Cech Ivanovic - Cahill - Luiz - Cole ----Mikel/Ramires - Lampard ------Hazard - Mata - Marin ----------------Torres Though obviously JT will be in. I think it's obvious that Lampard is too good to leave out and his partnership with Mikel really flourished, but Ramires offers mobility those to don't which we will need against certain teams. Hopefully when we wrap up the Oscar deal he'll start until Mata returns in September, and will then alternate with Marin.
I've heard Oscar an play in the pivot role? If he can, my team would be: ----Ivan---JT---Luiz---Cole-- ---Lamps/Oscar/Ramires--Mikel------ Marin--------Mata-------Hazard--- ------------Torres---------------
----------------Cech--------------- Ivanovic---David Luiz---Terry---Cole ----------Ramires---Oscar---------- -----Marin----Hazard-----Mata----- --------------Torres---------------
I think we could do worse than field a side like this! Cech Torres-Malouda-Mata-Ramires Cole-Ivanovic-Sturridge. Van Anholt Terry-Ferrera
Couldn't be bothered to make a new thread. Based on preseason form my team so far would be- ------------------Cech Iva (just) - Cahill - Terry - Cole ------------Essien - Lampard -------Hazard - (Mata) - Marin ----------------(Torres)
I dont think we will have a starting 11 as such primarily because i think we will rotate: - 2 from Terry Luiz and Cahill in defence 4 from Essien, Ramieres, Mikel and Lampard in mid 3 from Mata, Rameires, Marin, Oscar, Hazard in wingers/number 10 role But if I was picking a team now I'd like to see Cech Ivan Luiz Terry Cole Ramieres Lampard Hazard Oscar Mata Torres Essien or Mikel could come in against the better teams when a more natural defensive/holding midfield player is required. I'd give Luiz the nod over Cahill who I think is really the natural successor to Terry. Luiz's ball carrying and passing abilities will suit a more attacking team better.
And that's the good news , so many options we could concievably enter 2 teams and get both in the top 4. We are very close to having replacements for each position that don't weaken the team at all. Expect some of the new boys to take time to settle, so too early to call best 11 yet, Christmas will sort that out.
