I turned up for the "training session".... no one on the microphone telling the nearly 7,000 fans there what was happening...no introduction of the new signings, not a word from nigel...nothing on what was going to happen, ...nowt... I know it was free but, that was a poor effort.... A bit more presentation would not of hurt...It would of been good PR... nothing for the restless kids either (bouncy castle etc )...and no beer to be had..(I know it was early)... was futacs the guy with the bleached hair? I had no idea...only really good thing for me was.. waggy looked sharp and hungry...both keepers looked good....
They should of got Birch there on the microphone. At least made it a little entertaining for the fans. I got bored and left after 20 mins What was the point of inviting the fans to come if they wasnt going to interact with them
sad but true.... They need me to run the PR, cos that was pants... I could of earned the club an extra 5 grand today.. standing on my head...missed a trick im afraid...
All they basically did was open the doors to a training session. That's all they said they were going to do. I thought it was alright, good to get back down to the KP, makes pre season feel a tad shorter.
I think Newcastle did something similar last season and my mate went up there. Pardew had a mic on him and they got some fans to come and join in and they made it an experience. I think it would have been better to do that than what they seemingly did today. Having said that, I guess you could argue that Nigel wants his focus on pre-season prep rather than, as Ed says, a media/fan fun day.
Especially when there's too much with the oppositions fans - Charlie isn't it the cub scout jamboree camp this week - Go on get yourself off there and give us some peace
I think the Birch there would've made a big difference. But...Pearson came into the stand at the end and signed things and talked to fans for around 20-30 minutes after the players went back into the training ground.
I dont think they expected such a turnout for a training session, maybe they will build on this and come back with maybe an open training day next year, like the Madrid match but on a smaller scale.
Not just any shirt, it's the most eagerly awaited shirt ever! Or it could be the same shirt as last season with a white patch on the shoulder.......
