According to the sun we have signed Warnock and James Collins for £4 mill Now for £4mil im not that bothered, but is it players we need?
Not quite sure about these, IS it for sure, or just rumour? Just checked the paper seems to be correct,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but why? Meanwhile, Villa have been told to flash the cash if they want Ron Vlaar. Feyenoord boss Ronald Koeman blasted: âThey have so much money but do not pay for him.â
maybe there summit in the killgallon story and we all know we need a left back so warnock makes sense, get rid of bramble or turner now to get some money back a win win for me
The main question is, will they improve the squad? My thoughts are, yes they would, so it's a thumbs up from me.
Collins has been impressive from what I've seen of him -not sure over Warnock, though 4m for the pair sounds like a decent bit of bizness
If true I agree with above comments, neither one sets the heart pounding but both improve us, a left back, what do they do, its been so long. I hope we get that heart pounding signing further up the field.
Our squad of squad players is growing if this is the case. Two very ordinary players that don't have a future at Villa because they are not good enough, that speaks volumes Warnock is no were near as good as Colback or Richardson at left back nowadays and Collins is ok but no better than what we have. Underwhelmed if these come off hopefully it's the sun talking rubbish as we should be out there getting better. Bye bye Sess, if this is the standard of players that we are bringing in then Sess won't stick around.
Agreed mate but, it's the first team where we are lacking not the squad. At present we have a half decent squad throughout and that's it barring Sess (who goes missing now and again) and Larrsson (see Sess) the rest of the team are squad players. As for Collins a dirty get who will be banned for us within 5 games, Warnock is a LB which we do need not the best but better than nothing.
i'd be happy with this as i think collins is more solid and reliable than bramble or turner. Warnock well let o'neill be the judge on this one but on his day is a very good left back, one we dont have atm. And 4m isnt big bucks the squad is stronger and it leave more money for the strikers!!
if we have any thoughts of pushing for europe these are the players we need good squad players that will do a job
waste of 4m IMO.... warnock has ben terrible for 2 years and was average before that.... and collins is average and is anouther "squad player" we insist on buying... will support them through all my heart but i do have to question why we are handing 4m over to our rivals in the league for two more squad players
£4M is nowt really, in today's market. The real question is "who do they replace?". That will tell us how good a bit of business it was. If it's Turner, I'm a happy bunny. I think Titus now has quite a bit of baggage as well, so it may be time to part the ways with him, although he's done pretty well for us overall. MON will know them well, so I think we have to give him the benefit of the doubt before we start shouting the odds...
Underwhelmed to say the least. Neither of these players improve us imo. Richo is a better LB imo and improving all the time, and he's younger, I don't see the sense in buying Warnock? Collins - meh, squad player, I guess it's understandable in case of injuries. I'll wait until 1 September to pass judgement on MONs ranfer dealings but if this is the standard of player we're looking at then wtf happened to our "ambition"? That's three players in now from a club who struggled to avoid relegation last season... The villa fans must be laughing at us flogging all their old, past-it players to us, probably to replace them with younger, hungrier ones.
You've needed a left back for ages so I can see why you'd go for Warnock. A few of my mackem mates think Colback should be switched there permanent but couldn't really say I've seen him play there. Richardson is a shocking left back though, no positional sense and caught out regularly so I can see why you've signed one. Collins is strange as he seems no better than what you have. If he is replacing Bramble then its a good move cause that lad is a tit and a liability when the pressure is on.
if this is the standard of player we are trying to get i really worry about the new season hopefully is all a load of **** coz up til now not one player we have signed or not gives me one little bit of exitement and hope for the coming season so heres hoping we up the standard and get in some quality who can improve on what we got and create that bit exitement
