Match abandoned - serious injury. Didn't quite catch what happened though. Edit: Brid Town player down, think it may be a concussion.
The player is Craig Hogg, he was the top goal scorer in the ncel league last season for brid. I go and watch them at every opportunity, they called an ambulance from the advice taken from the Hull physio.
Sonny bradly put on twitter that he never single handedly stopped a game before thinking he may have caused it
Tony Warners Face might be interested to know that the last time I saw us play Brid in Brid a certain Mr Warner was playing for us. Probably one of the few games he ever did play for us. These pre-season friendlies are pretty meaningless except to get players levels of fitness and sharpness up, Jay Simpson could score 5 v FC Onehouseinthevillage and still be the invisible man when selected to play in real football. Roll on the start of the season.
Not sure how much of the back room staff but Dawson, McShane, Olofinjana, Cooper, Cairney, and Cullen where all here when Hughes agreed to cancel his contract. I think Hughes was one of the players that spent a fair amount of time with the youth tam in a pseudo coach's role. Could also be that it's someone at Brid who's put the game on and wangled it for them.
Correct. Townsend, Cullen and Lewis Clarkson also started. Very comfortable City XI 3-0 win and it should have been 6 or 7 at least. Goals from Hughes, ***an and Cullen with Cullen assisting on the first 2 goals. Nice to see Hughes again. Game abandoned after about 75 mins when Sonny Bradley cleared a ball straight into the face of the Bridlington No.9 who was knocked out cold. Eventually and after a paramenic arrived the neck collar was removed and he got to his feet. By this time the crowd had gone and the players changed. A good run out for all involved and a good day out in Bridlington. £6 admission was good value and the fish & chips from the chippie opposite the ground are the best around. Next trip.....Rochdale away on saturday when Aluko and Faye should get a game with the first team.
Turn right at coming out of station then left on main road as though walking into town. Excellent value and large portions. Another good one at the end of that road as you walk along. Can't remember it's name. Pricier than Jack's but virtually everywhere is. Have been in 149 and they are excellent if a bit pricey. Don't know where the irritating fish-fryer things coes from. He has just got on with frying when I've been in. Too busy for him to engage in small talk as due to the excellence of the product the place normally has queues out of the door.
Whenever I go to Brid, it's always Jacks for me, very reasonable prices and free slices of bread and butter in the cafe (usually full of pensioners so beware). Also the Naked Fish do excellent meals to although it is more expensive than Jacks but you do get good portions unlike most other places.
Probably, a good day out overall and it was a nice to surprise to see ***an and Hughes playing. Some chippy on the sea front, wanted to hold out for Busy Bees but my mates panicked.
