I have heard that PSV had stalled on a £7m offer plus add ons depending on international apps and extra £500k if he scores 8+ goals in his first season.
He reminds me of AOC! He runs at defenders and cuts in from the wings in just the same way. Very strange seeing him in our traditional strip - made me realise how much I'm gonna miss the stripes this year.
I take it you don't watch Dutch football on ESPN. He has looked class in the PSV games I have seen this season. I don't bother with YouTube either, anyone can look good.
I don't, but don't mistake me for being against Lens - I'm not by any means I was just saying, in very general terms, anyone who gets excited over a signing/judges a player's ability based on nothing more than YouTube is an idiot. I wasn't saying Lens isn't good, just that I refuse to think he (or literally anybody else) is a quality signing based on just YouTube. Good to hear you think he looked class though - I'm far more likely to accept judgement from somebody who has watched him play regularly than I am from someone who has watched a 4 minute video on the internet.
Totally agree, but trust me if we manage to pull this off then we should be in for an exciting season. As long as we can bring in a centre back with a bit of pace then talk of Europe would not be so far fetched.
The clip's worth watching just for the goal from by the corner flag, but going by what Cove said on the ajax-celtic thread, he's not really what we need. This story still doesn't really make sense to me to be honest.
I'll copy paste it here then: Very versatile player. Can play on the right flank, can throw in a decent cross but don't expect too much from it. Great striker or CF. Very fast and agile player. Give him space in the box and he can be very lethal. Very big and strong guy, great stamina and endurance. He's not the game changing type and he needs games to get in form. If he is benched and subsititued from time to time he's ****, seen that happen in the 2010-2011 season. Mentally he is a bit weak. When behind he is not the guy who can take a team to new heights and turn around a defeat. He has shown some temper last season and he can be complacent. But overall he is a great striker and if you can get him, you should. Price tag estimate: 6-7,5 million pounds Me: No, he can play on that position, but he is a natural striker. If you put him on the RW position he's more the Robben type. He makes a move to get into the box and shoots on target rather then chosing to head to the corner flag and throw in a cross from there. Like i said, his crossing on par level, nothing extraordinary. He is someone who can play on the counter attack. Within that tactic he can play perfectly on RW position because he is really fast. But he is more like a Sturridge type of player.
For 10 million, you'd want at least two. As somebody who wears contact lenses, wearing just one is a recipe for disaster.
Can't say I really like Puncheon after his arrogance a few years back. However, at the moment, him, Lallana, De Ridder and Guly are out only recognised wingers...
Nor do I, but he's putting the performances in so far. How long it will last or if he is benched how he will react is another thing. But right now, if no one else comes in he's making it hard for Nigel not to pick him on the opening day against City.
I reckon that one of our strikers will play as a 'winger' in a few games next season. Anyway, we got through most of last season without playing any out and out wingers (although we looked a lot better when we did).
