I take the opposite view. I think Jones lacks the technical ability to be a DM/CM, he's good on the ball compared to other CB's but his driving forward runs are almost entirely comprised of enthusiasm and effort rather than skill. Time to mould him into a proper CB because the time is drawing near when Ferdinand and/or Vidic will need permanent replacing.
Well that's kind of why I don't think he'll cut it as a right back. He's stuck on the touchline and he doesn't have the dribbling ability to beat someone one-on-one. But in the centre of the pitch he would burst into space from deep, which I think would rely on his physical qualities more than his technical ones... I see your point though, but Jones is still young so I think he can develop into the role...
