Cost less than Gazza, too. If people start calling him Gazza regularly (as they definitely will) is Godders going to get all grumpy again?
I'm claiming this. Heard a Martin Allen interview on talk sport about this lad and a prem club were interested. Posted it would be us on the 8th of this month on the rumours thread before anyone else. First time for everything!!!!!!!
A quick search of the Southampton forum shows you were the first person on here to say "Gazzaniga" except for the *****loid Hoadie on the FM thread, so yep, you do get credit for that!
Content with this, he's big, can command his area and can kick a ball miles. Plus we don't have to deal with Forecast being no.2
No Gillingham have to deal with him being their number 1! How the hell did Nicola get them to agree to that! I'd hate to have to negotiate with him.
Just did an image search for this guy, not sure we should have believed Gillingham saying he was 20... please log in to view this image That said, he's already accomplished quite a lot in football. please log in to view this image
Looks good from the video but have to bare in mind that only shows his good points! Commands his area and his kicking looks fantastic , as said before in the thread Joe Hart came up from league 2 and look how much he's achieved now! Not saying Gazzaniga will have the same impact but it certaintly doesn't mean he's going to just stay a second choice. Would of liked to see Butland but 6m+ was to much for him and Gazzaniga for around 2m is the right sort of price at the moment for a second choice keeper in my opinion!
Exactly! Nice guy, as anyone can probably tell from his moniker. Don't know how long he'll live for, when Phil's back he's bound to have something to say about it.
The England recognition probably priced us out of the market. Shame, but by all accouts this lad sounds just as good.
Well there have been one or two threads on the lad, prior to this. If anything, do what many have done and at least watch this Youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SHTGdf1oFs Although you'll see some impressive saves, you'll realise that here is a goalkeeper who can play football too.
They didn't show too many great saves in the video that I saw, but does come out and collect the ball in a sea of players (advantage of being 6'5). His distribution was very good and would cut out the need for midfield, so gives us another option if we are having trouble in that area. Very promising signing. I expect him to break through this season, so Davis will need to keep a tight grip of the shirt.
Hello Saints - Gills fan in peace. Let's face it, we're all a well-rounded, polite and articulate bunch. Especially Hoadie. You've got yourself a gem here, sad to see him go but we've got to realise we're a selling club and shouldn't stand in the way of any young talent moving onwards and upwards. Gazzaniga was a bit of a find, found by our ex manager Andy Hessenthaler from Valencia, surprising enough as I wasn't sure the dear man even knew where Spain was. He started the season as No.2 but took his opportunity with both hands and kicked the bejesus out of it down the field. Problem is we rarely had the pace up top to catch up with it... Take care of Paulo for us - he's an extremely nice kid and you can see he just loves playing football. He'll have a cracking time at St Mary's. Best of luck back in the big time, and if you could let us know how you'd like us to dispose of Forecast we'd be eternally grateful. TTSN.
Just hope he can fdo a job for you guys! Thanks I'm sure most of us could come up with some ideas on Tommy
You guys are pretty close to the Queen Elizabeth bridge right? Perhaps a sightseeing trip is what mr Forecast needs...
