Ten people have been killed in a shooting at a Batman film premiere in the US city of Denver, local media say. More than 35 people had been injured in the incident, it is reported. A reporter for the 9News website at the scene says a gunman opened fire at the movie cinema complex in Aurora, where three theatres had a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises. Witnesses said someone wearing a gas mask opened fire and there were also reports of a lot of smoke. The Swedish Medical Center, which is not the area's main hospital, told the BBC it had received three gunshot victims. Many ambulances are at the scene and it not clear if there is an active manhunt for the attacker. NBC News reports that one suspect was in custody. A witness told 9News that during a shooting scene in the film he heard loud bangs and a lot of smoke and initially thought they were live special effects put on by the cinema. Projectiles came through the wall from the neighbouring theatre screening, where it appears the shooting occurred. ................................................... Yet still the yanks think its fine for civilians to buy and own machine guns! Sad thing is these shootings are becoming commonplace.
Their constitution from over 200 years ago gives them the right to bear arms. And i know alot of yanks who will rather die than give up that right. ****in crazy. Down here the gun laws got tightened beyond belief after the shootings in Tazzie, and you dont hear of alot of gun crime. Apart from the bad areas where there are lots of drugs. Just imagine being all hyped up to see the new Batman film, to only end up dead. Crazy world we live in, and it's only going to get worse imho RIP.
Heard on the radio on the way to work that this happens on average 6-8 times per year in the states. Its so easy to get hold of a gun here its ridiculous, **** u can buy ammo without any licence or id in Walmart.
No politician here could ever win an election on a gun control platform. He/She would be destroyed by the National Rifle Association, which is the largest and most influential lobby group in the country. They have unlimited funds and resources and viciously attack candidates who run on gun control platforms. Straight up smear campaigns, i.e. Commie loving big gov't pinko accusations which lots of people here just eat up. Scary, but true.
