QPR might be able to avoid having to agree a fee or going to a tribunal, as Ewood Park boss Steve Kean would take Mackie in exchange for Hoilett. Rovers are willing to make Mackie the best-paid player in the Championship with a deal worth up to £2million a year. The 26-year-old forward is in no rush to quit Rangers but the cash may change his mind - especially if it becomes obvious that he will not be a regular starter for Mark Hughes next season in the top flight.
Can't we offer them SWP instead? We aren't a bottomless pit so would still like to see us recoup some of our money by selling a player who is actually worth something.
I thought blackburn don't have a say in who he goes to as hoilett is out of contract? yes they'll get compensation but they're not in the position to dictate where he goes or for how much. on that I say thanks for jh and mackie ain't going nowhere!
Maybe they got the idea from my earlier posts, sorry guys! While I want Mackie to stay, Hoilett over him is an upgrade but the ideal scenario would be to get rid of SWP.
It will go to a tribunal and it could be as much as £4-5m so an exchange wouldnt be the worst thing that could happen.
I reckon the tribunal will come in at around 2.5M (you heard it here first) and we'd look pretty silly if we gave their efforts at wrestling Mackie anything more than a bid raspberry in their general direction.
Mackie to Blackburn is ridiculous, he's just signed a new contact and if he is available a Prem team would sign him. He'd fit in at Norwich for instance.
if Mark Hughes thinks Mackie is not one of our strongest players now he might be tempted to let him go I would be disappointed if he did go as he is hard working and obviously commited to the r's
